O2 upgrade / PAC code
Hello, I've a quick question for anyone who knows about O2 upgrades, I've just spent half an hour on hold to them to find out about changing from my rolling month to month simplicity deal to a Samsung Galaxy 3 on a 24 month contract.
All they had to offer me was the same deal they have on their website, word for word at exactly the same price. I asked about the fact I'd been with them for over 5 years, and they said they're not offering any discounts for loyalty at the moment under their 'fair deal' policy. I asked to speak to the department who could give me my pac code, and they said because I'm not the account holder, they would be able to do that.
So, are O2 actually not offering any discounts at the moment (because of iPhone 5?) or do I just need to speak to the retentions department. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has done the same or similar recently, because at the moment it would be cheaper for me to cancel and go back to O2 with a cash back deal, and that's before looking at the other networks.
Thanks

Basically yes, regardless of the iPhone 5, but you may want to check 02 Retentions thread 2 ....So, are O2 actually not offering any discounts at the moment (because of iPhone 5?)
As they told you, you have to be either an account holder or a person authorised by the account holder to speak to them.or do I just need to speak to the retentions department.
IMO, it's always the case, especially if you join through a third party like, say, CPW/osps/e2save/mobiles.co.uk, p4u/d-a-p etc., plus quidco/tcb.because at the moment it would be cheaper for me to cancel and go back to O2 with a cash back deal, and that's before looking at the other networks.0
