BT Vision vs. Freeview & Lovefilm
Comments

Done a lot of research, and currently Talk Talk are offering
- Free You View Box (500gb PVR)
- All Free view Channels including the HD ones
- On Demand TV from BBCiplayer/ ITV player / 4OD / C5
- Talk Talks own TV On Demand Service
- 12 Months Free Love Film on Demand included
- Unlimited Broadband
- Telephone Calls Unlimited Anytime
£14.50 a month (plus the line rental varies between £9 & £14 depending on how you pay for it)
Plus they offer a thing called 'Boosts' where you can buy a monthly pack of premium TV
eg for £5 a month extra you can add Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky Living, etc
or £5 for all kids channels (inc Disney/Nick)
and you can buy these premium channels on a month by month basis with no tie in at all - you do it through the remote and it gets added to your bill
The main contract tie in with Talk Talk is 18 months though for this package.
However, thought this was a bargain as currently paying £60 a month if you add up my TV, Phone & Broadband payments for a very similar service.
Any feedback, pros, cons, or things I haven't got right or thought about?0 -
with bt vision vs bt youview you have to ask what is more important. HD or sports. Currently you get ESPN included in the unlimited package and the option to subscribe to sky sports. Bt youview box doesnt have a card slot so for now does not offer those channels.
I am with bt vision and will not be moving to youview just yet. There is also talk on the vision forums that bt will be releasing its own vision hd box in the near future (its being trialled right now apparently.) so that could be an option there as well.
If it was me, (and it is me as this is what im doing!!) id wait a year for youview to establish itself and sort out software flaws etc. Then in a years time if you feel it works for you then go ahead and get it. Until then you get the PVR you want for £4 a month.0 -
The only problem with the YouView box is the price, everything else does what it says on the tin. The family are very pleased with ours but they have not tried the Talk Talk or Now TV options as yet though. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
