Juicing veg can help you lose weight but fruit shakes have hidden, 'lazy' calories. For example, a decent sized apple will have over 70 calories. Juice 3 of them and that's over 200 calories. Would slip down really easily, whereas eating 3 apples would take time and you probably wouldn't eat more than 1 at a time.

Or you could have a 4 finger KitKat for less
    Or a packet of Minstrels
    Or a Crunchie
    Or a Flake

    Just saying ;).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Happy New Year moneycurious:D I'm feeling so much better thank you.

Choc_chick - totally agree that it can be expensive, however I mainly bought super 6 from Ald* so juiced that and I do intend on going to wholesaler for even cheaper. I originally intended to do this as a juicing only reboot week before I returned to work (then I caught a cold so couldn't face just juice). My plan now is to have 2 X juice and proper evening meal - I honestly waste so much fruit and veg that this is my sure fire way of not chucking so much away. I'll let you know how I get on and will be able to check if grocery costs have hugely increased.

  • Evening, firstly Natty hope you're feeling better now?

Moving on to juicing, we used to own a juicer but that got eb@yed along with the Kitchen @id food processor. So now I only use a blender so am using up hand squeezed OJ, then whizzed frozen grapes, frozen bananas, plums chopped and stones removed. It's making more of a thick smoothie, rather than a juice - but they taste good, are quick and I'm using up the stock pile we didn't eat over Xmas.

Ah, but I will increase my micronutrient intake - whereas my last week diet consisted of macronutrients and very little micronutrients ('cept the sprouts). I'll still be eating chocolate, I LOVE chocolate:D just might not have it in the selection box quantities of yesteryear:D:D:D

I was so close to ebaying my juicer just before Christmas - I'm glad I didn't though as it wasn't a cheap one:eek: I also have a processor (mainly just used for bananas though - nothing too exciting)
Because I'm a veggie with quite a limited palate, I know that my diet is, pretty appalling on the whole...for example I can't remember the last time I was able to give blood successfully due to always being borderline with regards to Iron.
As choc_chick says, juiced veg definitely doesn't fill you up, but as long as I also have my kiddie porridge in the morning with breakfast juice, and take a veggie drink to work I will be able to see if this impacts on my energy levels, and of course weight:D

Thank you for reading Lavinia - I was just thinking how embarrassing and completely unfocussed my diary is, so you've really made my day:D
