If you are going to use ladders at height any time then you have to ensure that there is another capable adult with you ... You can never put a price on health and safety so pay the money Nat ... Your family will love having you around much more than the £80 you will save
We have to use ladders for ours and have been doing so for many years ... But it is tricky and I would rather one day have it cut down to the right height so that we won't have to0 -
Thanks El, I'm feeling a little bit sick at shelling out this amount of money, hedge at front does look lovely and neat though:)
I am telling myself that I have saved money by removing TV package, and not buying wine or chocolate ad hoc. But £80 is quite a chunk.
Ah well, 18 days until pay day *gulp*February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Okay, I'm going for the strategy of justification. I reckon the cut will stay good for another 5 months, which will equate to a monthly gardening budget of £15, or £3.81 weekly.
Now, I would normally spend at least a weekly £3.81 on chocolate alone, so the reality is that I have a lovelier to look at front and back garden all for the price of a chocolate bar:D
Have I justified this unnecessary spend enough?February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Hi Natty, a truly inspired justification. We don't want untidy bushes on the MF forum :rotfl:

I think £80 is a fair price NP... but agree the timings not great!
We have a privet hedge in the front garden and everytime Mr MWC does a terrible (wonky) job I think about getting a professional in the next time :rotfl:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Hurray:T thank you both, I am feeling so much better.
The guy is STILL here, but did say to me just tell your hubby to keep on top of the hedge and it'll be fine (I was tempted to play the widow card for potentially reduced priced sympathy, but thought that's not good for karma so I politely thanked him and said I would do just that:D)February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

I am contemplating getting someone to do the first grass cut of the year as last year I hurt my back doing it and then we can keep on top of it. Hedge cutting is more of a pain in the @rse so no justifying needed in my opinion. Have you had a relaxing time knowing someone else is doing it, other than worrying about the money? If so then you made the right decision.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
