have you watched breaking bad Nat?

No, I've not watched it but my daughter raved about it a few months ago. I've just watched Mr Selfridge on iplayer....what a truly lazy Saturday I have had - and thanks to takeaway (which came in at bargainitious £10) avoided supermarket:T

Still doing washing / tumble drying / washing / tumble drying though:cool:

I meant to say earlier, for anyone who reads Moneywise magazine, I ordered a free copy via the website today:T

Well just ever so slightly, for now......but with any luck I will be able to road test my snow boots today in ACTUAL SNOW:D

Out of interest, I also want to know if LBR can actually handle snow:cool:

Today will be day 7 of no chocolate, or crisps, or biscuits which is now getting into completely unknown territory and I am not too sure of the sides effects I may encounter, as my body goes into some kind of meltdown.........

I think I'll swing another £20 into the mortgage for being such a good girl :A

  • Well done on abstaining from chocolate, crisps and chocolate for a week :T

I haven't been quite as good - 1 square of dark chocolate in the chilli con carne (try it - it works ) and I shared a mini milk chocolate santa with Mr MWC yesterday (11.5g each :)). No crisps or biscuits though :A

Well done Nats, that's impressive :T. I would have had some icecream last night but Mr GG said there wasn't any when he looked. I found it this morning. Guess he got confused as it failed to jump up and down waving pompoms shouting 'here I am' when he looked for it :rotfl:.

Mmm bit of unplanned money spending today, and not too sure if good price or not.......

Basically I have a large (very untidy!) hedge at front of the house and a very large and very, very overgrown pivot hedge in the back garden. A guy is giving both a short back and sides (incl taking away all leaves and guff) for £80. For any gardening people out there, is this a fair price?

On the loo roll plus side - I purchased 9 nouvelle soft for £2.55 at the co*p:D

Creme eggs are the best, although they definitely get smaller each year! Or perhaps I just get bigger:cool:

Mr GG is obviously afflicted with 'male eyesight' syndrome. My son is the same with socks, underwear, clothes, shoes, keys, in fact pretty much anything that doesn't automatically jump into his hands when he's looking for it;)

I wouldn't pay it ... But then I enjoy trimming my hedge ;)

It's more a question of if it's worth it to you? Do you have the materials that could do the job? Do you have the time? Could you spend that time better ?

Thanks El. I could do the front hedge - however it was well past the clipper stage so would need to purchase electric hedge trimmers....for the back, the large pivot is very, very high and only reachable with ladders - complete state of messy overgrowth so would have always required a professional.
As the front hedge has been done I wouldn't pay again as I will keep on top of it with the manual shears (I think!). The garden at the back is really very large and I'd always anticipated a budget for that - just not this month though:(

I'll just budget extra hard for remaining month, whilst admiring lovely hedges. At least I no longer bring the street down:o
