  • I have an older version of this one and it's brilliant, my Fs don't go anywhere... http://www.marksandspencer.com/Extra-Impact-Striped-Underwired-Sports/dp/B008DNMR0C

The straps seem a bit thinner on this new one, but hopefully it's still as good.

Have you tried eBay? There's often old stock or new but not in packaging bras by berlei, Freya etc that are much cheaper

Can I just add - whatever kind you go for :) - I do think a sports bra IS something you want to be Ok with spending money on, even if it means scrimping on other “official sporty looking” kit? Along with decent supportive trainers.

The way I see it, a t shirt and a pair of old jogging bottoms or school shorts are pretty much just as good for doing exercise as a more “professional style” lycra top and shorts - a lot of the really hardcore runners I know are doing well in old race shirts and school shorts.

But I reckon spending an extra £25 is WELL worth it if I’m not having ankle problems or the girls aren’t hanging round my waist in ten years time

I don't understand people who spend £££'s on exercise gear. What's a 'pro' lycra top top doing for you that a t-shirt wont? That's me, t-shirt & either £5 Asda joggers or old adidas shorts. Or if i'm doing yoga in the house, pyjama bottoms :D

Shock Absorber! I'm the same size and got mine off eBay, it's amazingly comfortable although with that and my gym top my boobs look like they might take over the world

I got a brand new Shock Absorber 34E bra from Ebay for less than £5 due to slightly discoloured fabric - not an issue as no-one but me sees it anyway! Definitely worth looking on there for one. It does a brilliant job, highly recommended.

Thanks for the op heartbreak_star - it's reminded me I've gotta get a sports bra too - tried Zumba last week and even tho I "double bagged" :o(snug old faithful + cheap Mr T's sports bra over the top) it was agony!
So, it seems most of you recommend Shock Absorbers - how are they for sizing? I'm just under an E cup, and looking at a previous thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4092621 re sizing, it seems that most suggest a cup size smaller?

Also, looking at this previous thread (thanks universalady!) there's some poss bargains to be had in shock absorbers from http://running.sweatshop.co.uk/nav/cat1/sportsbras/0 (search lowest price) - if they have your size:).

Sorry heartbreak_star - didn't mean to hijack your thread :)

I just bought a sports bra as debenhams had 20 per cent off individual items plus a discount code of 10 per cent off your order. Also went through Quidco which is 5 per cent cashback.

john lewis price matched, there should be more days like this coming up in the run up to Christmas.

i have bought from sweatshop.co.uk too.

I got measured in Bravissimo and she recommended panache bras for sports and regular day to day bras.

figleaves do discount codes sometimes such as 20 per cent off your order.
  • No probs Booter - glad I'm not the only one who double-bags sometimes haha!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Gonna have a good look about at the weekend.
