I had a text from Vodafone saying their charges for Vodafone live are changing from 1st June. As part of my package I could access various sections of what I call the internet for free, news, weather, football results etc. They are now going to charge £1 a day for this service. First they took MMS out of my allowance now this, glad my contract is up soon !!

Yes ... I had this too ... the wording was as follows:- "From 1st June changes will be made to the price you pay for using Vodafone live and the mobile internet. Please visit vodafone.co.uk/dataprices.
Looks like my package that once had sms, mms and data all combined will be cut back again to just sms.
I rang customer services, and the chumps had no idea as to whether my extras package would stay the same or lose the data element after 1st June.
If i was a betting man, I'd suggest ... its bye bye data .... This will be the 2time that Vodafone have changed the terms of my package mid-contract and this change will hurt on the cost front. In fact I'm sure i've read there's some clause in the small print of the contract that states if Vodafone change the T&C's and you can prove that month-on-month that by not changing your usual use of the phone for say mobile internet browsing your costs monthly go up by more than 10% then you are entitled to cancel your contract. Anyone know if this is true.
Either way I can't see Vodafone keeping me as a customer ... you just can't trust them to not make these changes mid contract for certain groups of their customers.0 -
Haven't received anything as yet. As I use Vodafone live a hell of a lot this will be a significant change for me. *not a happy bunny*0

I received 2 texts today with the message about the price changes.
Has anyone tried to test the end-contract clause with this? - I'm on a £50 a month contract until September/October and do jump on Vodafone Live to follow football and cricket scores from time to time.
I can't find any reference to the 10% clause (showing that your bills would increase by 10% or more per month to get out of your contract because of a price change) - but at £50 per month for my contract I doubt I'd fit into that category for my Vodafone Live usage.0 -
I too use vodafonelive to keep up with football and cricket scores. I would imagine if you pushed hard enough and asked for your calls to be escalated they would eventually allow you the leave the contract.
When Orange began charging for 0800 numbers I managed to get out of that on simular grounds. Section 8 of of Vodafones t&c's is where the details are.
Much as would like to leave vodafone not sure I could pick up a better value alternative. Anyone know where I could get 300+ mins 250 texts and free access to sports reults for £25 a month?0 -
The following is an extract from vodafone website' new Pricing policy. You will, however, still be able to visit the Vodafone live! homepage, the landing page of the four navigation tabs and all of My Account for free
This is how I see it - there is a chance that you would still get headlines and match scores free with a possible 'induced delay' and the rest of up-to-date information will come with a price tag.
'Landing page' will most likely hold headlines information and hotlinks to BBC/SKY's breaking news details(£ tagged)
Obviously, the change in pricing will most likely withdraw all the things that are free 'On-demand' and will tempt customers to spend a quid to get the information while on the move.I had a text from Vodafone saying their charges for Vodafone live are changing from 1st June. I agree with the sentiments above, I'm fuming as well.
Apologies I didn't find this thread so had started my own one here
Perhaps a Mod. could merge the two and hopefully more people will become aware of Vodafone's rip off.      :mad:Education is compulsory, school is not.

I though T-Moible Flext with web n walk would do it but it doesn't

For £27.50 you get unlimited internet access, 201 minutes and 198 SMS - not quite what you are after and it is an 18 month contract to get those rates too.0 -
I wrote to Vodafone about this a week ago. Having had no responce today I sent the same letter via email. I had a number of complaints.
1. They have re-debited my account with £30. The £30 was a 'goodwill' payment given to me last month due to them getting the delivery of the phone wrong twice. Having given it me it seems when they think my back is turned they can stick it back on again.
2. The new charges for Vodafonelive.
3. Not calling me back to discuss both the above after saying they would.
4. Not advising me I lost my rollover minutes when I upgraded recently. I was told no such thing in fact I was advised I was on the same deal.
My main concern is the new charges. I am fairly confident they will ultimately have to release me from my current contract if I push hard enough. Will keep you informed. Flex't thing look quite good Although I have hundreds I rarely send a SMS one month to the next which would give me more minutes (I think).0
