  • Why not use this situation to your advantage? Instead of worrying about whether you have to pay them back and how to do that you can instead grow your company.

You aren't suitable any more; they want it cleaned at one time and you can't be available then so you can either lose the entire contract or hire someone and still earn from it.

Doing so frees you up to look for new opportunities.

    Self employed and sacked?

Have a word with yourself! ;)

Hence Why i mentioned the OP might be a worker.

An employment tribunal may take long time but it free whereas small claims isn't.

You still need ask for what you think you are owed and write some kind of letter before action.

But if you have worked there longer than 12 month and are worker you could got to a Tribunal for unfair dismissal as well.

The OP is a self-employed contractor. We use them where I work (in fact, as an agency worker, I am a contractor, just not self-employed). Some of the contractors have been there years but this doesn't stop the company changing contractor whenever they wish.

I'm with Nathand on this one. OP, just employ some Polish girl on NMW and you will then be free to go after other contracts and grow your business.

  • I thought (at least in Scotland) if you are employed by same company as main line of work, after 9 months you are classed as employed and given same rights except holiday pay.
