Utility Companies Taking the Mickey

Lately, I noticed more and more that all of my utility companies keep making little 'mistakes' where they charge me for things I didn't order, or usage that I didn't use - for example Plusnet just charged me for some kind of call barring tariff. I know this is nonsense as I don't own a telephone handset, and they haven't charged me for this before.
Before, T-mobile took payment twice one month, and both my electric and gas companies occasionally overcharge 'by mistake' and I have to hassle them to get the money back (I always do get it back in the end, because I don't owe them it).
It's starting to get a bit wearing, having to fight them all the time and feel like a cheeky criminal, just for saying, "Please don't steal from me."
I might be being paranoid, but it's always small amounts, that if I weren't budgeting and scrutinising each penny, I might not notice. And it didn't happen a few years back, although then I was better off and I might just not have noticed. And again, I would think it was in my head if they weren't all doing it. Surely they can't make this many mistakes, this frequently????
