Hi, generally speaking, when a mobile phone 24 mth contract reaches its end does it re new itself or does it simply require 30 days notice to end it? I'm with Orange but I guess most contracts are similar?
Thanks
Thanks

The latter. It goes on until you give 30 days notice to cancel it.0

If you do nothing when you reach the end of your contract period you effectively carry on with your current tariff on a 1 month rolling basis - i.e. you continue paying the same amount each month but can give 30 days notice to cancel at any time.
Expect a phone call from Orange when this time is approaching and they will try to get you to sign up for a new contract (12/18/24 months) by offering you a better deal or a new handset.
If you're happy with your current handset then your best bet is simply to switch to a SIM-only contract with Orange or whoever else or if you want to upgrade then go for it. Just don't continue on after your contract expires though as you will carry on paying a higher tariff to cover the cost of the handset you got at the start of the contract.0 -
Thanks guys, appreciated0

Your contract doesn't end. You only reach the end of your minimum term restriction, the contract does not change. Since the contract requires 30 days notice of termination, this will be your only commitment - the time starting from when you give notice.0
