First of all let me explain that I have had a very bad evening and night, so have had no sleep whatsoever last night and, actually, only about 4 hours the night before :( I ran out of my 'nutty pills' as Mr 3Dogs used to call them ;) or antidepressants as most would call them, as I was expecting to be back home by Thursday and had a full prescription ordered to pick up when I got back home, but with staying up here longer, I ran out, having my last one on Wednesday morning  The good news is that I managed to get a prescription faxed through from my surgery to local pharmacy yesterday and I can pick up a week's supply this morning, so normal service may be resumed later today .... hopefully :o:o

Sharon-p - quick Fanta diet sweet and sour dish????? more details please, pretty please :D

Hugs 3Dogs, sometimes a good cry is good for you, glad you got your prescription sorted. Sorry I'm only answering now but I took a long much needed lie in this morning

Diet fanta sweet and sour is a variation on diet coke chicken, or is that another one no one has heard of? Recipe below. Its a quick 30 min meal that tastes like chinese sweet and sour xx

2-3 Chicken breasts cut into strips
330ml Diet Fanta (or diet orange fizzy drink)
    4 tbsp Passata
    Chopped onions
    Vegetable Oxo cube
    Tsp vinegar
    1-2 tbsp Sweetener
Shake of dried chilli flakes (depends how zingy you like it!)

    METHOD:

    1) Cook the chicken until browned. Add the onions and cook until they soften.

    2) Add a can (or 330ml) of Diet Fanta / Orange drink, the passata, vegetable oxo cube, vinegar, sweetener and chilli. Add some chopped peppers and any other stir fry vegetables you fancy!!

    3) Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until it starts to thicken up. If you find it’s too liquidy after this time remove the lid and turn the heat up to reduce it to sticky sauce.

    4) Once cooked stir in some fresh pineapple chunks and add to cooked noodles or rice.

Sorry forgot my manners, [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon everyone and welcome home Westie and HC

Thanks Sharon P Ive added this yummy looking recipe to my recipe file

there is always another glitch, deal or offer. You will see this in time. Since i've been around there has been free soup, free beans, free washing up liquid, free handsoap, a vitamin glitch, oep glitch, jelly glitch, ben and jerry glitch and others that i have forgotten. That's part of the reason why the longtime members have been irritated. they have been there done that and got the t'shirt.

oh forgot the 1p clipstrip.... 4p pants, jeans etc.

Yes agree....first I read of lot of the comments and wandered why the irritated tone but x hundred pages of reading in I got it....they did a lot of work and the rest of us are guilty of being free loaders to a lesser or greater degree. Is why I feel it is important read all this stuff before asking the old stagers for pointers.....hopefully in time those of us who are learning can also pay it forward as well.

    all the best
  • Just a thought.....
Maybe the greed of the supermarkets has lead to this all.
Many people see a 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 offer as a way of saving money. Most do not realise the price has been put up to compensate for this 'offer'.
In an ideal world we, the consumer, would be charged a fair price in the first place. We would then be able to decide for ourselves which products we prefer and not have to make our choice on price.
Surely this would be the best way forward and would allow in the most cases families to purchase a more healthy diet as the cost of everything would be fairer.
But we do not live in an ideal world and the major supermarkets battle eachother for our business not by offering us the fairest prices but by trying to con us with 'special' offers that unfortunately are not 'special' at all.
I will continue to post here and hope one day to be considered a regular.
I have found this whole incident fascinating.
One thing being a novice mse'er has got me back doing is cooking from scratch more often thanks to the great receipies shared. Not something I did often as cooking for one is not as interesting but cooking to save is.
I continue superscrimping lifestyle to free up cash for the more important things in life and I will never compromise taste or my ethics just to save a buck.
I look forward to continuing on this journey with you all.

Sorry to ask but is the beanz coupon still being accepted? I was in T on Thursday and it was refused as it was in the banned folder. Have Heniz withdrawn this offer as it was meant to be one free can per fb account?

    Many thanks

Great news Budgie on using your voucher trouble free, do you mind if I ask which one you were in was it W? I think I've read if you round the time you enter up or something it then makes one that isn't reading come up on the system??

I'm in dilemma, found a couple of unmarked receipts that I'm not sure if I've used the coupons from or not, wonder if I take them to CS they can find out for me as don't fancy committing fraud by attempting to use them twice :)

Icy windscreen at 6.30am today, time to dig out the coats and boots for all I think!!

Enter the receipt details into the checker and if you have printed it off a coupon for it before, it won't ask you for your address, email details. :)

Grrrrr, I typed a post and it wouldn't post!

Got about 50 odd pages to catch up on. Not hard to work out what it's all about.

Not around here much this weekend as I am spending time with my nephew. Probably no asda either lol

I popped into a t express this morning and there was no little ambrosia rice on the shelf, looked like it had been taken off as opposed to it all being bought. Makes me think that t are running a bit scared lol

  • Hi everyone!

Not been on for AGES... I've been adjusting to the life of being a doctor, it's hard, I did 78 hours last week and I'm on nights starting monday so a little bit scared.

Have tried a shop today and we'll see what happens.

As QOC mentions the ambrosia 120g original is swiftly being removed from shelves and replaced with apple and strawberry, saw this in 3 a stores today.

Ah well, will probably have cocked up, but there was nothing on there I wouldn't have bought anyway so all's well.

    Will post results.

Mine was also not accepted at A, couldn't be bothered rooting for them to put back plus I like them anyway so no bother, although my cupboards are heaving with beans as fillers :rotfl:
