Hi Sharon-p
I was thinking about joining Slimming World - but as a man, feel rather shy about joining a weekly group meeting.
Can anyone say whether the online membership is just as good? Or is it the motivation of the group meetings that holds the key?
Personally Rhett, I need the motivation of knowing I'm actually getting on those scales every week and the support of my consultant and group members is key for me. I am 1lb short of a 4.5stone loss at the minute and I can say with my hand on my heart that this is an amazing eating plan (not a diet). Shyness is understandable, whether you're male or female. My advice would be to take the plunge and go to a local group, sit in on the new member talk and then decide if its for you. You are under no obligation to join. If you have several groups within your reach and dont feel comfortable at the first, try another but in my experience the consultants are welcoming, understanding and supportive as they have been where you are. Feel free to pm me with any questions and good luck whatever your decision xx:heart2:Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.:heart2:0 -
Anyone doing a Asda v Tesco shop and need a filler.

Yup I know I disappeared for the last week. But I have a great excuse.....and he's sleeping upstairs in his cot.
Zac Edward was born on 14th September at 12:48am weighing 6lbs 13oz. Labour was amazingly fast. Medically it was only 1 hour. But it was only 4 hours between waters going and having my little man in my arms.
Was kept in so long because of some medical concerns, but am home at last and all is going well.
Once again I didn't expect the birth for a good few weeks....and then he decides to come early. I will sort a pic out....but for now they're all on my camera and I have things all over the place.
Note: If someone would kindly fill me in on the current glitches I'd be very grateful. I'd imagine I have hundreds of posts to try and get through.Tiger
I'm a body double for Claudia Schiffer and i wont get out of bed for less than [STRIKE]£10k per day[/STRIKE] a 1p find0 -

Although I wouldn't have wished to shop like Henlans and maybe you don't like his boasting, but is it right to stick the knife in?
Remember he put a lot of time into those lists which I found invaluable as I am sure many other peeps did too.
Don't have sour grapes because it is over, celebrate what you have"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -

Charming or charmless the 'fagin' is saving themselves loads of money and thats why people are on here, so why criticizes.
It is not as if they have highlighted the problem to Asda and the glitch will be correct asap and we all lose out.. Asda have been aware of the problem for days but just cannot or do not want to correct it.
As 'Fagin' says .... 'fill your boots' you miserable lot.0 -

To be honest, I am shocked at the greed of some people. Henlans, in particular, has been shouting on the rooftops about his vast and excessive stashes of stuff. This does not "sit right" with me. He was in trouble when DTD was taking place at Mr T and now he has repeated his actions. To me, it is pure greed.
Savvy shopping, ....he is only doing what everyone else is but on a larger scale, because he can be bothered to. It doesn't effect anyone else and it saves him and his family a packet.
What gives you the right to call him a Greedy !!!!!!.
Well done Henlans0
