phew...just got back from the Harvest Festival and seems like chaos on here and the skipping group again :rotfl:
I did start to post my thoughts on the skipping group...then FB crashed on me...so I'll post them here instead....I'm sure it will make me very unpopular on here....but we're all entitled to our opinion
Firstly....I believe, and have done for a week or so, that a certain poster on here could be infiltrating info back to As. This is not the person who is currently being slated on every page of this thread.
The glitch has been going for longer than any other glitch I've known in the last year of being on MSE...granted DTD lasted longer, but imo, that wasnt a glitch in the system like the current glitch, it was merely a manipulation of the system.
Most people on here posting, be it regulars or newbies, have had the opportunity to take advantage of this glitch, be it online or instore - whether they choose not to is down to the individual and their circumstances. Only a very small % can claim honestly that they couldnt participate (as opposed to didnt want to)... ie HC, Westie, LTF
Each person who has participated has done so with the intention of taking advantage of As apg system, which in the cold light of day is immoral if nothing else! Please dont get me wrong here, I'm not saying that any of us have done wrong utilising this glitch!
However, i do think its unfair to blame one or two people, especially naming and shaming on here, for the glitch being publicised.
This forum and thread is public. I'm sure that we're not all naive enough to believe that no one at A, T or any other supermarket reads this thread. This glitch could've been reported by any number of people. Like I mentioned earlier, i have my suspicions about who I believe would 'grass'...but I'm certainly not going to share them on here as I have no proof.
People are purely speculating that the glitch being publicised is down to people using large apgs - I disagree. Suspicions have been aroused for ages now and plenty of people have been trouted using small apgs too - the SAs can easily see that an apg generated for almost the full amount of the cost of shoping (be it £5 or £50) is inaccurate. It only takes one SA to mention this to management, them to reinput the apg details, and voila...they can see something is wrong.
With the exception of a few people who have chose not to participate in this glitch, all of us are guilty of manipulating the glitch - and to lay blame at one persons door for it potentially ending is unfair.
Every other glitch has been short lived, and no one ever gets the blame for that, so why should this be any different? People should be happy that they had chance to join in, not be criticising others because they didnt have enough time to stock up for the next Millenium. There will always be glitches, and some people will participate, others wont...some will get lots, others wont. Its what the world is made up of - differences.
As regards laying blame for the end quoted statement in the article, yes we all know who's quote it is, but to be fair, they could have used any number of quotes from other people, including stash photos. To me, the quote doesnt reflect the nature of the glitch i.e. it doesnt indicate that the world and its mother are spending £500-£900 per day on the glitch.
In my honest opinion I think theres been far too much hypocrisy over this glitch....plenty of people on here have milked this, yet others are criticised for doing so. Alongside that, people have been condemned for their methods ie creating large apgs - yet when others have done it, its acceptable.
This thread is predominately based on chat...until theres a glitch...which is great...but over the last couple of weeks, people seem to have got their knickers in a knot about it, and decided that this is no longer a place for the glitch. Again, slightly hypocritical....usually when a glitch is found, theres no rush for it to be placed on the grabbit section, as everyone on here wants to 'fill their boots' before it goes public to the rest of mse. The other side of the fence is that those who dont wish to participate want the glitch removed from this thread. Both seem like quite a selfish attitude to me. I appreciate that it may end up with lots of posts being made about the same thing....but surely the same can be said about the first 30 pages of every new thread - nearly every post is 'thanks for the new thread' - completely irrelevant really as theres a thanks button, but it doesnt stop anyone doing it.
Personally I wouldnt get into a flap about the glitch being fixed. This hasnt been made public through any major national news forum (as far as I know anyway)...so its clear to me that the details posted have come from an informer/lurker on here.
Sorry for such a long post....it will make up for the fact that I dont post that often!!!hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -
I think I've spotted a glitch A v T for the big 360g boxes of Maltesers, perhaps someone could tell me if I've worked it out correctly as I can't get to a store till tomorrow.
Tesco have a 2 for £6 ( normally £4.58 each) on the Maltesers ending 25th Step
They also have a separate promo running on Heinz 200g smaller cans things like Mac Cheese, Ravioli, Spag Boll etc. This promo is 4 for £2 (normally 70p each) and also ends 25th Sep.
If I've understood this corectly if you bought 1 Heinz can and 3 Maltesers wouldn't it trip (obviously you need the fillers to make up the required minimum numbers)?
If I've done this wrong could someone please explain why.
Thanks in advance.0 -

:T:T:T:T:T:TWell said:)
I can't work out what the big panic is about with The Grocer, it just means they've picked up on it somehow and they've done it with other glitches in the past but it doesnt necessarily mean they are over. I'm sure someones happy with their 15 minutes of fame on there;) All along the old Elite have mentioned not breaking the rules with this and keeping it legal but some people unfortunately will never learn:(
Hear hear :T
Anyway, it's not as if The Grocer is mainstream reading now is it?!
I am happy with what I have had out of it. It's all for personal use and the car boot I was going to do last weekend was from a clear out at home as I need the space.
