I havent posted for a while but have been skipping looking at the fab pictures and reading the stories. I know you are lovely people and like me animal lovers so I thought I would share this with you. In 1990 we got a tiny cross bred siamese/alley cat (his mum got out naughty girl!
) Anyway we took him home, funny little thing, he looked a bit like a bat with his pointy ears and face. My boys loved him but when they went near him, as tiny as he was, he spat and went for them. So between them they came up with the name Beefy Boy
. He was a little nightmare, got up to so much mischief, he hid in bedside drawers, climbed net curtains, tore the furniture to pieces, stole food off your plate and generally caused chaos! We would regularly find dead animals under the kitchen table that he brought home. Anyway it is now 2012, he is still with us although the boys have all now married. He is deaf, he has arthritis (DH has put a ramp from the back door to the garden to make his life easier) and the sight of a bird in the back garden now confuses him. He is very fussy what he will eat but at the moment likes the Iams Senior as a side dish
. We know he wont last forever and it will rip our hearts out when he goes, but what a lovely long life he has had :j. Thanks for reading.....Maz
Awe, that's lovely. Thank you for sharing. :AN1LDA0 -

Oh justmaz that is lovely.
I love the idea of the ramp, what a lucky cat to have adopted such a great family. Yes it will be hard when he does go but you are absolutely right to think about his lovely long life. He must be one very happy cat! When I grow old, I dont want people thinking "what a sweet old lady" I want them to think
"oh carp what is she up to now!"0 -

Heres the basic recipe hun, you can play around with the spices and veggies. Hope you enjoy it, it looks so wrong when you read the ingredients but really is delicious and healthy. I like to make the sauce up the night before to let the flavour develop, and it will make a lot of sauce but it freezes well x
Mushy Pea curry
4 chicken breasts
Tin of mushy peas
Tin baked beans
Tin chopped tomatoes
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 onion
Mushrooms
Petits pois peas
curry powder
Garlic granules
Crushed chilli
2 chicken stock cubes
Method
1 Put baked beans, mushy peas and chopped tomatoes in saucepan and mix with chilli and garlic and bring to the boil
2 Once boiled, blend with blender until no bits left
3 Put back on hob and mix through curry powder and heat on low. Put in as much as you like until you can no longer taste beans – or to own taste
4 Leave to simmer
5 Cook mushrooms, onions, peppers, chicken and peas in a non-stick wok with half a cup of boiling water mixed with 2 chicken stock cubes
6 Pour in curry sauce and mix with chicken etc. Add boiling water until your required consistency.
I'm going to try this as I have a few (cough) mushy peas.
I thing I'm going to use 5 beans instead of baked beans. :j
