Negotiating with T-mobile, contract already finished

Was hoping I could get some advice on how to approach negotiations with t mobile for a new contract.

Basically my situation is that I jave been abroad for the past 4 months (not using my phone at all) and my 24 month contract expired at beginning of September. As I wasn't using my phone, I didn't want to pay an extra month or two on the end of my original contract so I got my sister to call t mobile and explain the situation to them and get my phone switched to pay as you go when the contract came to the end of the 24 months.

Will I still have the same bargaining power nowas I would have had in my final month? Or will I be treated as a new customer?

I am specifically interested in the Samsung galaxy s2 and s3 on their £21 per month contract for 300mins and unlimited texts but with £90 and £200 upfront phone costs respectibely. Is ot realistic to be able to bargain off the phone cost or should I try and reduce the monthly bill?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • As a PAYG user who hasn't been topping up you are more likely to be treat as a new customer it would seem.

I would ring them up... Quote a good deal you've seen... If they match great, if they don't get your PAC. There are many deals out their via other companies (still with T-Mobile) at better rates...

You could even stick with PAYG, buy the phone outright and enjoy the flexibility of not having to pay every month if you'd like.
