Bt Broadband dispute

Dont know if there's anyone on here who can tell me where I stand with the following:
Left BT Broadband to go to Sky Broadband with Sky giving me an activation date of the 12th July. Sky then send me the router and I replace the BT router with the new Sky router and I set it up ready for activation on the 12th.
The 12th comes and goes and Sky says there is a problem with the cabling and tie pairs at the exchange and give me another activation date of the 16th. This also comes and goes still stating that BT Openworld have not activated it yet .
Two weeks later BT Openworld finally connect me onto Sky Broadband on the 27th.
A month later I receive my final Broadband bill from BT and they are charging me for Broadband till the 27th surely they can't do this as I changed my router to the Sky router on the 12th and it was
Openworld that didnt activate me to Sky Broadband till the 27th so I couldnt use BT Broadband anyway

Presumably as there was a tie pair problem at the exchange BT OR left you connected to your BT Broadband service up until the day you were finally switched over. Did you not at any stage plug your old router back in?That gum you like is coming back in style.0

it would of only been complete would or did it at the exchangeDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Although you are given a date by your new ISP, the changeover could be delayed for more than one reason, it could be that Openreach (not Openworld) didn't perform the work on the correct date, or your new ISP didn't enter the order correctly, or when the OR engineer transferred you to the new ISP's kit there was a problem with the new kit, so reconnected you to your old provider until new ties to the new ISP are provided, or the original ties are repaired, if this is the case, then your old provider is correct to keep charging until the takeover takes place..although you didn't reconnect your old ISP router, if you did then you would have service,0

Sounds like that was the problem then, BT were supplying the service but you did not take advantage of it, so you have no comeback unless Sky may be persuaded to make a goodwill payment to you for the delay. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Nope, fight them on it. They tried to pull this with me, and charged me for 3 months after I'd left them. I called them again and again and got told - ridiculously - that I should pay, and apply for a refund. I refused and the manager told me he would refund me. Then they took more money out of my account! I called again and got a full refund, by threatening them with the financial ombudsman.
BT are unscrupulous cowboys. Don't take anything they say at face, and if you check Trustpilot, their 'testimonials' are crammed with similar stories to yours.£1600 overdraft
