I have planted Tomatoes, Parsnips, onions, brussel sprouts and Giant sweet peppers. this is the first time I have ever tried to grow vegetables and I have shoots all over the place!!
Onions - all shooting
Tomatoes I have several 4 inch high plants already!
Parsnips - most shooting
Brussel sprouts - loads of shoots again
Giant sweet pepper - 2 out of 6 are shooting so far
Tomatoes have just been transferred to bigger pots and are on the dining room window sill at the moment to let them get a bit bigger and stronger then about end of April I will harden them off and move them out into my new greenhouse.
I am enjoying it thouroughly!!!0 -

Wow, well done! Mind if I ask you how you did it and what you are growing them in?0 -
My kids think I`m mad. I am a first time veg grower and keep screaming for the kids to have a look at my seedlings as they grow more each day. The courgettes are going mad, its like day of the trifids in that corner and my beetroot looks almost pretty
It`s like having loads of newborns to be proud of

I've had some experience growing flowers but I didn't really consider growing veggies until I started to come to this site. What an inspiration you all are. This year I have Kohl Rabi, beetroot, spring onions, tomatoes, lettuce. I can't do too many veg because even although I have a fair sized garden, it is on a slope - HA - did I say slope? Matterhorn more like, so it's quite difficult to get around on it.
Anyway, I digress. It's much more exciting than growing flowers when your veg start to come through
A friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0 -
My garden is on a slope and I am growing loads of vegetables!!!
I have pegged a plastic greenhouse down at top of hill and filled it with pots of vegetables!!!!!
But I agree, having a garden on a hill is not easy to balance the pots. Or myself for that matter! Our dream has come true...
