Hi - why do they employ a trustee?? Does that mean it might not be finished with tomorrow?

Hi Wanna - the OR does not always appoint a trustee - often it is at the discretion of your creditors - but the function of the trustee, according to the letter sent by OR when they appointed one for me, is to 'sell your assetts'. I assume therefore 'No Assetts = No Trustee'.
My trustee sent me a form, bigger than that used for my OR interview, and a letter to state that my house would form part of my 'estate in bankruptcy'.
Other than that I have heard nothing more from the trustee.

  • Hi all,

Got the big phone call tomorrow at 10 am with the OR. The OH is at 2 pm. I'm so on edge! What a lovely way to spend Easter weekend! I'm just hoping that i've got nothing to worry about. Actually there's more to worry about on the OH's part what with 2 vehicles in his name and credit union issue which could cause some probs for OH at work. It's awful not knowing what to expect.

Hi Lucy - Good luck to both of you for tomorrow.
The OR will know that you are nervous, and should put your mind at rest at the beginning of the interview. Just be yourself, give concise and honest answers to his/her questions and if, at any time during the interview, you need a break - just ask.

The questions will be based on th info you gave in the petition. As long as you have supplied the names and account numbers for all of your creditors, the OR can get all the info he needs from that.

    Good luck.

    Welcome to our world, HIMP.

If you have specific questions, it`s probably best to put them in a new thread to get the maximum exposure.

You`ve taken the biggest step by acknowledging your situation on here.

    Good luck with your journey.
