Clear or obscure double glazing window in landing

My friend is having double glazing and told me she wants clear glass on her landing. I found that very strange why would she want clear glass instead of obscure for some privacy. She said she will be using blinds. I would never dream of having clear glass on my landing, but I guess everybody's taste is different. Thanks

I have clear glass on my landing window with a blind that lets the light through but gives privacy. I think obscure glass is only for bathrooms and front doors I hate it anywhere else.

Why would you particularly want privacy on a landing, usually you just walk past it anyway.

I like to look out of mine so its clear with a voile curtain panel.
And Im not bothered about people looking in as they pass, they are looking up so wouldnt see much anyway lol
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

My old house has obscure glass in the landing and I'm pretty sure my new house does too (can't actually remember lol but it'd make sense otherwise me and my neighbours would be staring at each other if we looked out of it,even with a decent gap between our houses and gardens!)as the stairs come up the side of the house with a turning landing-window is at the top of the stairs.

I suppose it probably depends on whether you're wearing anything on the way back from the shower, and what there is to see out of the window. The landing window in my parents' semi-detached was obscure - if it had been clear it would have been looking straight into the same window of the neighbour's house.
  • My landing window is on the front of the house and from outside, looks like a bedroom window. It'd look 'orrible with frosted glass, I don't do much naked dancing in front of it though, might scare the locals:)

I thought only bathroom windows had frosted glass or front doors. Can't see the need on a landing myself but its up to the person themself.

I've never seen obscured glass anywhere other than the bathroom/shower room in a home and would definitely not like it anywhere else.

Of course as with anything else in your home you should have whatever you like, not just what other people have, but at least be aware that most people will find it a little odd.
