I've just had a look at that oldies club. Your dog might stand a chance there, because if anybody looks at that website (like me!) who are proper doglovers - they can't help but be won over!

p.s. Not a good time for me looking at that website as I've just lost our dog at 14, and really can't have another one at the moment as I have two young children in the house - wouldn't want to risk a rescue dog as I don't know what they would be like with the children. Anyway old dogs really don't want children throwing themselves all over them, they just want to snore in the corner somewhere!!

I really do hope you find a home for your dog - I will be sitting here worrying about it, sad person that I am!!

I do dog walking for the RSPCA and have seen lots of dogs waiting to be rehoused who have lost their elderly owners. They try to rehome with similar owners, but make sure that they are able to look after a dog

Well Oscar has found a home :)

Richard (Step - nans grandson in law (yes I know we have a confusing family)) rang us yesterday to explain that he had spoken to the cinnamon trust again and had a proper chat with them. Turns out his father in law had been a bit rude to them when he rang originally (he has a rotten attitude) but Richard explained the situation and although they said they didnt have spaces, they could give him some numbers of people who were looking to rehome dogs through the trust.

So Richard took Oscar to see an older lady and she loved him (how anyone cant I wouldnt know, biggest softie ever!). So she said she would happily give him a home so Oscar was left with her. Its a great releif to see Oscar in a new home, somewhere where he will be doted on like he was before.

Thanks for all your advice guys :)

toshkinny: Just seen your post. I wouldnt be too sure about older dogs and kids. Oscar was nearly 12 but still acted like a pup. He ADORED kids as they would play with him non stop for hours. He loved for people to throw his toys and just give him lots of love! Ive known older dogs get on brilliantly with kids :)

That's great news, glad he's found a new home! Got my faith back with Cinnamon Trust!

Yes I know what you mean about the older dog. I think it's because I don't think I could find another dog that could replace my last one, he was a retired guide dog and we only had him for 5 years, but I'm glad we did. I will have to leave it a while before we take on another dog!!

Enough of us! I'm glad it's all sorted and I hope a few people from this website may look at that oldies website and fall in love with one of them.

That really is great news, thanks for letting is know how it turned out, I've been wondering about him.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
