ALDI added items on reciept

Options
I shop at ALDI quite a lot, probably once every forthnight and for the second time in two months I have been charged for items that I didnt buy.

First time was in July when I used a £5 off voucher I got charged for peppers £1.39 when I didnt buy them, I emailed ALDI and they said they would look into it but I forgot as it was only £1.39.

This week just been for my shop and have noticed I have been charged an extra £1.39 for Oranges...

now I cant go back to ALDI as it is over 10 miles away and I have no proof as I didnt check my reciept at the till, but I want to warn people to check at the till each time they shop at ALDI.

I have shopped in other supermarkets and never had a problem but this is going to stop me from shopping at ALDI ever again.

does anyone hae an adress for their head office or a name and email that I could contact?

Have you counted the number of items you bought against what was on your receipt? Aldi use four digit codes for a lot of their items and it could be as simple as one item wouldn't scan so they entered the code and either it was the incorrect code (in which case you may have been over or under charged for something) or if they knew the item was £1.39 but didn't know it's code just put it through as oranges as they were the same price an the cashier knew the code.

It will be the plu's they obviously typed the wrong one in. At a similar retailer I worked at a customer came in to complain they had some fruit or other on their receipt they hadn't purchased. I checked the cctv and it turned out the plu had been used in error and mis typed by one digit as it belonged to a much higher value electrical item which they had 'purchased' but was not on their receipt. It won't be an addition it will be for the wrong product.

At Aldi they have a shelf behind the tills where you can stop and pack your items. It is here that you have ample opportunity to check through your reciept for any inaccuracy. Leaving the store without doing this simple check is akin to accepting their mistake, you should check the reciept and if you find an error go get it resolved there & then.
