Old Style Daily Thread for Sunday 16th September 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Sunday 16th September 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning x
Im up early as DS1 and DD need ferrying to work. DD just gone so in between trips:eek:
I have been reading but not posting as OS is non existent again. I have to get back to it soon though.
Hugs to everyone struggling and in particular Elona and her family xx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Good morning Molly and to all who cross/follow,
I haven't posted for a little while either. Just been busy in general.
Dull here at the moment. I think it is supposed to brighten up. It was a beautiful day yesterday. Got three loads of washing dry.
Chickens have been fed and watered this morning. I am now sitting with a cuppa enjoying the peace. Plan to get the allotment finished today. We just thave one more bed to tidy up. It just looks really bare compared to how it did a month a go.
Chicken for dinner today with hg potatoes and hg veg.
I hope everyone has a lovely day andhugs to those who need them.

Morning all
Lousy nights sleep last night, horrific nightmare about a serial killer (my own fault for reading Retribution by Val McDermid), another nightmare, this time about work, I dreamt I was sharing my space with a teacher who has now left, she was a bit of a drama queen & 2 hours worry time from 4 'til 6, so I got up & came on line.
We had an unexpected visitor yesterday, a friend of hubby's, who's been unemployed for 10 years now.
I got all the washing dry yesterday & now need to iron it.
No work for hubby today, so he want's to sort out the compost bins.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Hugs Hester

I'm off to a spa hotel later today for the night with 3 of my friends. One of the girls is 8months pregnant so we taking her away for a treat. Really looking forward to just chilling out.
Before that I need to finish my college assignments. I've done the essay, have one slide to put on the presentation but need to make a poster selling the course. I'm not arty so am stuck a bit. But it needs to be finished today, and the words are more important than how it looks!
I may go for a jog before starting my college work, depends on the weather.
OS wise - dishes washed, freezer meal for lunch, rummage in cupboards for some snacks to take with us.
Have a good day all

Good Morning Everyone
Had a lovely lie in and a good nights sleep so feeling quite energetic at the moment. Todays plans - pottering around the house this morning then out this afternoon for DS' football.
Just about to put Beef Brisket in the slow cooker with a load of onions for tonights dinner - will serve with all the roast trimmings. Love making gravy from the slow cooker juice, its the best gravy ever. Got a large enough piece of beef so will definitely be having beef stew tomorrow.
I must clean our rats out today and do the ironing but there is only a little to do :j
Sorted out 2 cupboards in the kitchen yesterday, now my baking supplies are much easier to reach and I can get back to baking again. Took half the time I thought it would so has inspired me to sort all the other cupboards over time. I am getting rid of lots of stuff, we do have a large kitchen and at the moment there is loads of stuff I don't use any more.
Anyway I appear to be waffling this morning :rotfl: so off to make another cuppa, have a great day all.x0 -

Welcome [/B]Pixie[/B] must be mid afternoon for you now, so late or early it is irrelevant.
Today we have a Christening & First Birthday party, just realised as I type this I have not got a card, and our good card shop does not open on a Sunday:o:mad: it is our Godson's son. Decided some pennies in his bank account would be better than extra toys as I am sure he will have plenty, that side is OK. We have found a puppy sitter for Skye, as she cannot be left that long, some Caravanning friends who are now neighbours, they are going down to a local site where they have their 'van as they are having the drive done so they can get their caravan at home, so she will get a grass fix too. She woke us up this morning at 7.20, went outside and is now curled up fast asleep on DH's lap, while we are now awake!!
OS wise, the outfit will be out of the wardrobe, maybe a trouser suit from days of work era, kept a couple of nice ones, camel or red dependent on fit, though showery later so a trench coat may have to be dug out too, to good to part with.
Breakfast is Weetabix and maybe HM bread toast to keep us going longer.
