Try the Corner Cafe on Burley Rd - about 5 mins walk from your hotel

Very good and reasonably priced Indian food - check it out on TripAdvisor

They're not recommending Wetherspoons, they're recommending Slug & Lettuce. Different chain.

Nothing wrong with Wetherspoons. Pint and a burger for a fiver, can't go wrong.

One of Leeds' best kept secrets is Little Tokyo. Fantastic place or a meal:

As an alternative, although I admit it's stretching your budget a bit, Fazenda is well worth a look as an 'all you can eat' without that chain buffet tackiness.

Fazenda is brilliant if you can eat your bodyweight in meat. Personally i found it too expensive for what it is, but then i struggle to finish a steak. We went for a birthday meal with my son, it was his choice, i wouldn't rush to go back.

My favourite place in Leeds is Teppanyaki on Belgrave Street. Not cheap but fantastic food.

We often have breakfast with the displaced of Leeds at weatherspoons. My colleague selects it as it is handy (for what I am not sure though you do feel smug being the only one sober at 9 in the morning).

I live in Leeds City Centre!

There's a really beautiful Japanese restaurant called Little Tokyo behind House of Fraser, it does amazing bento boxes filled with lots of treats for around £13 and they fill you up so much you won't want anything else to eat. There's also sushi and noodle soups which aren't too expensive. I'm in here all the time, absolutely love it.

A new Thai restaurant near the train station has just opened called Sukothai - there's already 2 of these restaurants in other parts of Leeds and I'm told it's amazing, very tasty, not sure how expensive it is, but it looks nice when I've walked past.

And totally different from Asian cuisine, but great (I've been to both):

Fazenda's in Granary Wharf (just behind the train station on the canal) if you go for lunch it's about £16 but all you can eat Brazilian restaurant - salad bar it the most diverse and complete salad bar you've ever seen and if you keep your drink coaster green side up, the waiters keep doing the rounds and brining different cuts of meat to you until you turn your coaster over to red! If you go in the evening it's slightly more expensive at around £20+ but it's really quality food in a nice setting and all you can eat!

Red's True Barbeque on Call Lane, literally just opened, can get very busy but it's an American style Grill House. The sharing platters are great and food is not too expensive.

    Hope this helps!
(As a relatively new user it wouldn't let me post the links to the restaurants, but if you type in the restaurant names & Leeds it brings them up)
