Good advice from Gunjack.
These are the instructions for getting your line stats for a Talk Talk router
In particular section 4
The 0.9 Mbps is getting there, and a lot better than the 0.32 quoted earlier.
Already better and we haven't tweaked anything

There's your biggest problem - the attenuation (i.e. length) of your line....
This is the most accurate speed estimator out there:-
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php
you're lucky you can get broadband at all with a line that length. However, all may not be lost....optimise your internal wiring setup and you may be able to improve things a bit...follow advice here:-

Again Good advice from Gunjack.
In your reply to my post number 8, you omitted this bit
It does sound as if you are miles from the exchange, can you confirm please. You are approximately 3.32km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!
I highly recommend that you do a speed test with the router plugged into the test socket, via a filter of course (the second link in Gunjack's post).
The 3.2 km is how far I am from the exchange and I get about 2.5 - 3 Mbps. so all is not lost0 -
^^^ and I sync at 72xx kb/sec on a 50dB line @ a stable 2.5dB snrm
