Cannot see a thread started again, so i am jumping in again if thats ok?

As before, i will show changes in red, which i hope is helpful to newbies to meal planning.

Monday

Just me, and i have just one rib eye steak in the freezer, serendipitous if you ask me. So steak and what ever veg i have about the place.

Shheeesh, i was looking forward to that steak. A last minute change of plans means i am no longer dining alone. A chicken pie out from the from the freezer, which we will have with green beans and baby carrots.

Tuesday,
Just me again. Its likely to be eggs some how, maybe scrambled, maybe a cheese soufflee, again with whatever veg i have as a salad.

Wednesday
Two of us, here. I am going to plan for veg and quinoa.

thursday, this may be someone elses day to cook

Friday...fish, definitely, but depends what is good at the fish monger

Saturday

Pork chops with apples and brandy, probably cabage and mash

Sunday...will have a look in the freezer!

Pinkypig, meal planning is a true revelation to many. It IS hard at first to get your mind around it, just thinking ahead what the weather is like
Y ro be etc, but i find not only os life easier and cheaper, but we eat BETTER, because i can see where repeats are coming in too often, and where we need more 'excitement'. Its easier to plan things like veg variety accross a longer time period...e.g. If its all getting a bit green you notice on paper.

I have fou d it almost impossible over summer and recent times, and our food expense, but importantly pur petrol use, has increased a lot, because i have found myself 'just popping out' for things far too often.

I buy fruit and veg most often from a green grocer, which is a bit of a pain as it does not last as ling, but knowing that later in the week we will be eating x i can buy some stuff, prep and freeze. Whoopsies get planned and rotated into the cycle, and i still leave room for some variety...e.g friday we will eat fish, but i do not know what...it will depend on what looks good and what is best value.

Ofcourse there are times i still have to cook of the seat of my store cupbpard or where plans change, but plans can be juggled if you have a basis to work from. :). I know peoe can find it really difficult to start, whichbis why i am showing my changes in red, so newbies can see that even those of us used to planning have to adapt or change. That i am doing it after a long period of not really having stuff together helps in the honesty of that for new meal planners I hope, to see how far or how close plans can move.

Nb, lots of ingrediants bought for one meal can be prepped frozen and offered as that meal, or reinvented at a future date, that its there in the back of your head or in your plans means it is less likely to be wasted.

Here we go with this weeks menus. Meals in no particular order. Dont plan anything for Saturdays and TRY to do one new menu per week which will be in RED

Roast Pork, potatoes, green beans, cauliflower, sweet corn & apple sauce.
Pasta, pesto, chicken & broccoli (have never made or had pesto!!)
Liver & onions with carrots, cabbage and green beans
    Fish of some sort
Steak, salad & crushed roast potatoes.
