Makes life easier having a menu planner so this weeks is as follows
Monday : Sausage Casserole, new potatoes and cabbage
    Tuesday: Macaroni and cauli cheese
Wednesday: Chicken Goujons, baked potato and veg
Thursday: Smoked Haddock Chips and Peas
Friday: Spag Bol (the sauce has red lentils and finely grated veg in it so no-one knows its there;-))
Hubby has day about between soup and puddings as he has two courses - so need three puddings for the week - will be semolina and jam, sponge and custard, and will use up a birds trifle. Soup will be the same as I am having for lunches,

Breakfasts are porridge, toast or cereal
Sandwiches for lunchtime are now part of the menu planner too. Hubby has rolls and bread - one filling on the rolls and one on the bread - he leaves for work at 5.30am and is not in again until 7pm.
This week is roast Ham, cheese, egg, salad, tinned salmon(he doesnt like tuna!) HM meat paste, jam - so a combination of two of these each day. I will have soup, bread and a yogurt at lunchtimes - just made a big pot of red Lentil made with smoked ribs - delicious! Soup for the middle/end of the week will be red pepper and tomato.
Shouldn't need to go for any shopping until Thursday for bread.
    Every days a School day!

    Hi,

I'm joining in if I may :D I delibrately don't meal plan really during the warmer weather as we don't really have evening meals as such. Just sandwiches or salads really.

Anyway, now that its getting a bit cooler I feel that I want "a dinner", when I get home.

    So this is the start.

OH is still having salads (I'm wondering if this might help people who eat at different times) We have tinned tuna and pork pies so he will make a salad from either of these along with coleslaw, toms, cucumber and potatoes.

Mon: I bought three ready meals :o last week when I wanted a hot dinner (they are not great when you've made your own) this is the last one. - Hot Pot

Tues: Burger in Bun with Blue Cheese, OH might well like this as well.

Wednesday: I'm out, I go directly to the supermarket from work to do my Mums shopping.

    Thursday: Pasta Bake

    Friday: Always Chippy shop chips.
  • Hello all - late start for me this week. Had a big brunch on Sunday for a group of friends - was good fun and had the leftovers yesterday for tea.

Having a very busy week but hoping to have something HM and healthy as many nights as possible

Monday: Beef in Oyster sauce (new for me this week) on rice
    Tuesday: spicy veggie pilaf
Wednesday: spiced carrot and lentil soup and cottage pie (new for me, believe it or not!)
    Thursday: Out for work
Friday: L/o carrot soup and cottage pie

If roommie cooks during week I'll roll over one of these meals to next.

  • I do this every week just not on here.

Every day, cheese or porridge for late breakfast/early lunch

M - curry and cauli rice
T - just me so omlet and veggie sausages with beans
W - just me again [sniff sniff] and will be working a late one so small amount of chips [home grown spuds to use up] and a veggie stir fry thingy
T - chilli with cauli rice
F - TBA - usually potato based [we really have lots of spuds to use up] and DSD has pizza [half of last week's already made and frozen]
S - cottage pie with cauli cheese topping
S - veggie stir fry with small amount of noodles, and a roastie for dinner
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • Here's my meal plan for the week. I'm finding its handy to post it here because I usually lose the piece (scrap) of paper I've written it on so can check when I've forgotten!;) Meal planning is definately a great way to save money!

Good luck to those of you trying new things - good on you, but can't believe cottage pie or pesto haven't been tried before! You are missing something!!

    Here goes:
Breakfasts are usually porridge, toast, cereal or yoghurt
Lunch - bread rolls (filled with salami or cheese), fruit and yoghurt
    Dinner is as follows:
Mon- Salmon and puy lentils (kids will have fish fingers, potatoes and peas as they are busy with clubs tonight)
Tues - mushroom rissotini (recipe from HFW Veg cookbook - nom nom!)
Weds - Pumpkin stew (pumpkin homegrown too! yippee!)
Thurs - Prawn and split pea curry (tomato sauce and pasta for kiddiwinks earlier as they are curry averse)
    Fri - hm pizza
Sat - bacon and pea pasta
Sun - turkey steaks with new potatoes and steamed carrots and cabbage

Did pretty well last week so hope to do the same this time round!
Good luck to you all x
