  • Back in action between waves of storms hitting us here in Greece. Having an easy day at home to chill as we had a party for all our friends for our joint birthdays/anniversary last night and didn't get to bed till 4am! Had the bar make a buffet for us and our friend did his karaoke show for free and a great time was had by all. Got some lovely presents and cards which we really did not expect and the place was packed with all our friends having lots of fun.

Managed to get a load of washing done this morning and most of it dried on the line before the showers began to hit us again. It's looking very stormy in the distance so it will remain indoors to dry off now. Took the rubbish up the mountain to the bins..which are now outside the village on a very steep road....but the exercise is good!

I was going to do a car boot sale tomorrow morning to get rid of some of the clutter but since its outdoors on the seafront and storms are forecast I don't think its a good idea for this week. I will wait till the weather clears up a bit or becomes more predictable.

My other half had an MRI scan on his back and he has been told to lose at least another stone in weight. So he is back on the healthy eating ( I eat healthy all the time, but he has cravings for unhealthy carbs, chips and bacon butties LOL.) He has gone down from 96kg to 85 though, so praise where its due.

So food today has been :Greek yogurt with chopped pear and nectarine/ green salad with baked potato and cheese/handful of wine grapes..tonight will be grilled pork chops with green beans and cabbage.

    Have a great weekend folks!

  • Evening all

Lovely day out at the food festival :) bought some yummy bread (garlic&rosemary, and sundried tomato - split with my friend), some nice cheeses, and a chocolately brownie, all of which I shall sample for dinner. Bit disappointed there was no pesto stand like previous years, but other than that it was great.

Shattered now, going to leave college work til tomorrow morning I think. Looking forward to watching Strictly and eating my yummy food.

2tonsils so glad to hear from you again; ooh, storms. I don't like storms, but then, I'm a wimp!:D But you mentioned the word "nectarine" in your post. I LOVE nectarines, but in Milton Keynes they don't seem to be readily available (I sent Mr LW to the F&V market and got onions, carrots, 'nanas and apples. No nectarines!)

He's in my bad books - we went to the pub last night, and there was a chap there who'd clearly had one (or two) too many Riojas bending my ear about nothing of consequence, and Mr LW sat there are DID NOT RESCUE ME!!:(:(:(:(:( And I was trying to work out (this is me, with zero social skills, btw) how to tell this guy to P*$$ OFF AND DIE without offending him, and all Mr LW can do is sit and scowl, and only later do I discover that he's thinking "this chap is trying to steal my woman from me" :(:(:( Gods!!! MEN!!! AAAARRRGGGHHH:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
    I feel so useless/stupid/inadequate.:(:(:(:(:(

LW don't ever feel useless/stupid/inadequate. You are wonderful. If Mr LW is being stupid that is his problem. Oz sends big slurp.

well I managed to fill one rectangular white chinese takeaway box with blackberries ,it seems that everyone has the same idea so maybe there is enough in the box to make possibly two pies with lots of apples to bulk it out a bit.
Tried to fix the printer by it seems terminal as it was 'clicking' as well as not printing. My eldest DD did some research for me and found one for £28.00 on the net so she's ordered it for me and it'll be delivered to where she works as I'm often in and out all day.Works out cheaper than 4 new cartridges at least which asda wanted £36.00 for !!!
I have been sitting with my feet up knitting this evening apart from the walk around the woods with the boys I have had quite a lazy day No housework but hey the sun's shining so I do housework when its cold and rainy, the sun doesn't last that long so I like to make the most of it
tomorrow morning is cake baking morning and DD will arrive for her coffee and HM cake around 11.
Hope you have all had a productive day
Cheers chums I'm off to read my 'book club' book which is ' Arthur & George' by Julian Barnes ,not bad at all and quite gentle reading
    Cheers chums

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi Everyone :j

I hope you all dont mind me joining in? As I am now unemplyed need to organise my days better to make sure i keep on-top of all the jobs i complained i hadnt got enough time to do and i thought this would be the perfect place to do that and to also have a chat at the same time.

Due to the time difference here, I could either be really early on here to post (as its 8am Sunday morning right now) or very late, so Ive decided to be fashionably late if thats ok :rotfl:

Well we are at the start of spring here and its already really warming up. 26 degrees yesterday and not a cloud in the sky. So I managed to get 3 loads of washing done, i went food shopping but spent far too much (see my signature) but some of the things i brought have been put away for christmas and then we went to buy seedlings and manure (sp?) for our new veggie patch. We are a little late in starting this as we only found out that one was available in our local community garden last week, next time we will grow from seed as it will be cheaper but time isnt on our side this time. All in all we spent $65 which included three large bags of manure, seedlings included carrots (purple and regular), onions, spring onion, peppers, chillis, rockmelons, tomatoes, more chillis :D and garlic. We are hoping there will be enough room for potatoes too but we didnt want to buy those until we know we have the space.

After all this shopping we just chilled out and ate leftovers for dinner :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend
