iPhone 5 offline - would it work with any tariff?

Might sound like a silly question, but if I could get the iPhone 5 offline (which I've been offered at £550), then I'm considering getting this and then get onto a cheapish sim-only deal with at least 500MB of data.

Does anyone see any obvious problems with that approach?

No problems if you're not bothered about 4G.

It is not clear yet if/when providers will offer nano-sims for cheapish sim-only tariffs and if it will be possible to cut a regular sim to nano size.

"Will it work with any tariff" ? now thats a yes & no depending if your network will issue a nano sim free or otherwise !

Apple - could not organise a upgrade policy in a sim let alone a GREAT phone with or for its network "partners" in last few years.

Still, a Macbook Air with Windows 7/8 on it is fantastic, so they are not at deaths door yet lol there is hope i6 will blow us all away in a year if we are now blown away better & quicker on 21st December 2012 ;)

Why? Use EE or 3UK and 4G will work phone, as SIM only or PAYG.

Currently, yes - but like the Micro-SIM this will change in exactly the same way. It was Apple who promoted the standard, so they had a vested interest, but other manufacturers are set to follow, with the expectation that the standard SIM will be as rares as the full-size one now.

Really ? have 3 launched their 4G network off the back of EE being told to drop some 1800mhz spectrum which 3 bought for a undisclosed amount ?? £1 perhaps ? sold to EE backhaul 50% partner-owner of MBNL

Or are 3UK set to launch 4G/LTE next year ? hhmmmm, buzby google is your friend indeed....

ALSO: EE have stated 4G payg is not available....doubt sim only will happen given such based on Orange policy - 3G sims not being available unless signing a long term contract.
