The youngest wants the batman jail £29.99 in Argos at the moment. The eldest got the batcave he asked for last year and he loved it, they have both played with it loads and it turned out to be good value as its still in tact and played with an they still have the figures.

The eldest hasn't said what he want but always picks something difficult to get hold of:mad:
Pervious years were
age 3 a cuckcoo clock (found on amazon)
age 4 a discoutinued ben 10 figure, paid well over the odds on ebay for the darn thing.
age 5 the batcave that was sold out everywhere, lucky I managed to get one from Toys r us
If anyone child wants a cuckcoo clock:rotfl: here's the link

Funny my eldest said to me today how kind it was of santa to leave him a stocking, (filled with 5 or 6 bits from the pound shop) As he wasn't expecting it, it seems to be what he remembers the most and cost the least.
I really don't think you need to spend a fortune to have a nice x mas. I've been saving £1 a day towards x mas all this year and don't want to go over that.
My 5 year old would absolutely love that clock but  at the price. I think I am quite stingy these days :rotfl:.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
My children are all grown up now but I remember the days of buying 'fad' presents all too well!!
Now I buy for my godchildren and grandson (though he's only 9 months!). God children are aged between 2 and 12 and the last few years I've bought jigsaws, books and crafty bits all of which the parents said lasted longer than any of the 'big' toys and were used constantly.
This year, just to do something different I've made them all a baking hamper - big brightly coloured mixing bowl; mini whisk; spatula; spoon; rolling pin; cookie cutters and some cake/ cookie/ crumble mixes; jelly moulds and jelly etc. Cost me around £15 per hamper but reckon they'll be able to make a good range of treats to eat and learn a life skill in the processStopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -
My lads are having cookery lessons at the moment, so a cookery hamper would be a good idea. I might even fidn them a separate shelf each in a kitchen cupboard so that they can keep their stuff tidy :rotfl:(well, I can dream......:D)0

my kids are 6 (dd) and 4 (ds) and theyre both getting the innotab 2. I was going to buy the innotab as theyre £50, but I found a BNIB pink innotab 2 on ebay for £60 so figured for £10 more I may as well have the newer version.
Of course, that then means I need to get my ds the same one.......but then I got a 20% off code for ELC and via there I can get the innotab2, 2 cases and 2 games for £123-saving £31 which is happy days for me!!! And thats them done.0 -
I like the leappad2 explorer which is the toy of the year award winner too. however it really depends on the interest of the child. check some Christmas shopping lists from the sites like thehottoys.com to make your own decision:

got the innotabs etc and theyre set up ready for xmas, my daughter has since asked for barbie singing Keira from barbie princess and the popstar dvd which she's obsessed with.
Only problem is, the darn thing is OOS at all 10 of my nearest argos store, OOS online at every shop ive looked at online and ebay ones are selling for £35 odd which is putting me off buying as the shops selling it have it on offer for around the £20 mark-but my brother is getting her princess Tori to them so I gotta keep checking everywhere for the damned thing.
I went to the cinema the other day and after I came out ran round 4 differnt shops looking for it with no luck, and that was in a big shopping centre!!!0 -
Our DS got the red one of these for his second birthday and whilst he uses it, it was on the smaller side then. So unless your 3 year old is a real tiddler, he'll probably get minimal use of out it.
How about one of the micro scooters? You can get the smallest ones with seats that can be taken off as their balance improves.

My eldest is 9 and originally wanted a 3DS but I refuse to buy one, she already has a DS and DSi so I've steered her in the direction of a tablet which she seems very happy to ask for.
My problem child is my 6 yo (she'll be 7 in January) she has announced she wants 'Every Moshi Monster in the WORLD' I really don't want to fill my house with the latest fad toy that she won't play with after February - I have a horrible feeling they will just become the new lego (ie left lying on the floor for me to nearly kill myself on stepping on them in the dark at night!) She is a complete tomboy, actually hid under the table last night when I jokingly suggested to her Gran that she would want a Barbie doll! She has a DSi so I was going to ger her a couple of games and some DVD's but have no idea about her 'big' present - I did think about getting a child friendly tablet but to be honest I know she will take one look and discard it in favour of her sisters but at the same time I feel she is too young for a proper tablet! Any suggestions please?Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0
