Buyers TSFE feel like giving up on selling!!!!

Recently I sold some parts from a pushchair, 5 items in total, 1 of which was pick up only, 1 which was pick up or courier and the other 3 are small so can be posted with Royal Mail.
The items ended on Monday night which is when the trouble started!
2 of the small items were paid for straight away which was great.
The pick up item, I got a message from the buyer who was about 500 miles away demanding I send by courier to which I explained I could not due to lack of packaging and being unable to wait in for a courier. This transaction was then cancelled - mutual agreement.
The other large item I get a message from the buyer(only 1 feedback) today asking when they can pick the item up, which I thought was strange as they are 100 miles away from me and the item only sold for £5. Anyway they could be visiting friends so I gave them my address and asked them for cash on collection.
Get a message back saying they can't get a lift that far and can I send by courier and telling me cash on collection will be fine.
I also think she thinks she is getting the whole pushchair when it is just a part for it - this is CLEARLY stated in the listing. It's just the way she worded the message.
I then send message back saying once they have paid by paypal I will send the item out - no reply as of yet.
The other small item still hasn't been paid for.
I haven't sold on ebay for about a year and I remember things weren't this complicated, people would pay within a day and items would be collected when pick up only is stated.
I stressed so many times that the largest item was pick up only and stated my reasons - why can't people read the listing?
So now I still have 3 of the 5 items and can see myself having to relist them all.
So anyway I feel like giving up, selling on ebay seems like it's more hassle than its worth now - has anyone else had problems or have I been unlucky?

Did the photo show a complete pushchair?
If it did then maybe you need to contact them before sending it to make sure they are aware its only 1 part?
If your selling a part then put a photo of that part. Stops your account getting trashed for being lazy or misleading.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The photo shows the item on the pushchair but the pushchair is mostly cut out the photo as I zoomed in on the item. The first 3 lines of the listing state it's for that item only and the other items are in separate auctions.
I didn't have a photo of the item on it's own as it is currently in storage so that is the only one I had on my computer.
As the item only went for £5 - the whole pushchair usually sells for between £30 and £50 on ebay, the other bidders obviously read the listing.
Anyway I doubt she will ever pay. When I relist I will use a different photo. My daughters are my world0 -
I fell your pain I really do

I have not sold on ebay for a while now, because of all the loonies mainly, the only advice I can offer is when the item could be confused with being something else, write the listing as though a bunch of 3 year olds were reading it, big red capital letters "THIS IS NOT A COMPLETE PUSHCHAIR" bla bla bla
In future you would be much batter removing the item from the pushchair and setting it on a table and taking a picture of juts that item, Ebay is full of fools and chancers, think of it as a game, the object being to get yourself in a position where there can be no mistake as to what you are selling, its condition etc etc etc.
I miss selling on Ebay and have been very tempted recently to get back to selling, then I read some of these posts and change my mind again."You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -

There are some issues around some of the mobile phone apps not displaying full text and this is causing issues for sellers where photo is not exactly what they are selling.
However, don't let this put you off selling, these boards are actually very quiet at the moment and if you remember that there are millions of ebay transactions occuring every day then the ones we see on here are an almost miniscule percentage. Millions of successful transactions compared to a handful of issues on here- it looks good to me.
There is still money to be made on ebay, it just takes a bit more common sense that perhaps ebay like to suggest. I run a tiny business, hardly worth bothering with really, yet it pays for several good foreign holidays a year and lunches and dinners out at least once or twice a week . Have looked at the buyers feedback and they have recently purchased a pushchair and according to the feedback they never collected it or paid for it so looks like I am going to have to relist 2 out of the 5 items.
I have opened a unpaid item case against the buyer. My daughters are my world0 -
This post could have been written by me , eBay is a nightmare.UnderPressure wrote: »I fell your pain I really do

Why not remove the item your selling and just take a photo of that if you will
have to remove it anyway?
Surely that cuts down on the risk of people thinking its a complete pushchair?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Just sold a laptop clearly labelled in the title and main body "Not working - for spares/repair only". Started at 99p.
This morning I got an email "didn't realise it was for parts".

I feel like giving up on eBay but at least the four things that actually got paid for were the higher value out of everything I listed! 4/20 is a poor rate of return though.
That is pretty poor.
I do wonder if some of these buyers don't actually realise that by winning an auction they are committing to buy? Or know how to use ebay at all. Perhaps all users should be given an aptitude test before being let lose on the site.

Auction ended 9 September. Winning bidder with zero feedback. Payment reminder sent to buyer 11 September. Buyer paid by echeque, expected to clear 18-20 September. Add on another three days for the payment to reach my bank account from paypal. I'm only having a bit of a de-clutter, but sometimes really have to wonder if it is worth the hassle.
