Hubby has an XE too, if that's the black one with a memory card rather than the white one without...

He researched online, and consensus is that its a conflict between HTC software and Vodafone settings. Not found a workable solution yet, other than "rooting", which means nothing to little technophobe me.

He has an ok reception for calls, but texts are often delayed and mobile broadband is so slow I could look it up in a book quicker.

He's had no joy with complaining either. If he takes it to a store, they admit their signal is boosted so all works perfectly.

I'll keep an eye here, and if we find anything useful, I'll let you know.

Thanks. my Sensation XE is rooted and unlocked ( I bought it from CEX) but I had same problems with Vodafone on 2 other handsets.

I should also add that criss crossing around Mumbai and Chennai in India with a Vodafone SIM in the same HTC handset was AWESOME!, but in Delhi it was like back here, pretty terrible. but in Mumbai I weas getting easily around 8mb per second data download speed and rock solid connections.

So... Vodafone service in Herts is worst than in a 3rd world country??
  • I must be only a few miles from you in Bricket Wood... our vodaphone reception is pretty rubbish unless i'm upstairs

Why don't you ask for a boostbox, it's only £50

Im between Brickett Wood and St Albans in Shenley. When I was on Voda and drove down Radlett Lane from Shenley to Radlett, it was 100% guaranteed that the call would drop. A few years ago, but I bet its the same now.
