  • I'm doing some phone shops for a large Computing organisation but having real issues with the questionnaire in that it doesn't seem to accept a difference between live phones and dummy phones. Is anyone else having this issue or am I just losing the plot?

Yes! It keeps telling me that I said there were not any live phones ... yes I know, but there were dummy phones!

I just completed the questionnaire with the error showing and made it clear in the comments that there were not any live phones. However, the following dummy handsets were available .... etc

Sorry I cannot be more help!

Has anyone done one of the phone shop within a supermarket jobs on TNS? Just wondering how much work it is / whether it's worth the fee if anyone else has done one before.
  • Every time I have done one it's been very short and painless. The worst hassle for me is trying to get paid properly, hence I'm not doing work for them at the moment until they sort it out.

Thanks for that skintsocks - is the payment problem with TNS in general or do you think it's just limited to you? I've not done any jobs for them before so have no experience of them.
  • I'm not sure, to be honest. I don't want to run a company down. I just know from my experience, that I'm still owed payments from May, and twice, they have said that there's no problem, so now I'm producing bank statements and copies of job lists. I'm sure there are many others on here doing work for them, and hopefully they'll tell a different story :)

Hmm, I can confirm the above as well. I wasn't able to make sense of the online sassie payslips from a few months earlier this year, and they definitely didn't match up with what I thought I should have been paid. After months of emailing and them telling me I've had everything and not to worry about bonus payments cos they'd been paid as well, I ended up just drawing a line under it and starting again. I still have about £100 worth of visits I reckon I've not been paid for and they reckon I have. I tend to stick to one project a month with them as it's easier to track.

Oh, and don't even think of trying to contact them if you have a problem with an assignment.....actually, you can think about it and even do it, just don't expect a reply! I got de-allocated from a job last week because they made an error in their figures, my report wouldn't submit because of their error and 4 emails later (from me, no response from them) I was automatically deallocated!

Having said all of that, they're one of my favourite companies to work for :rotfl: They get it right most of the time, but when they get it wrong, my experience is that it's really really :wall:

Thanks both of you - I've decided to give the job a try and see how it goes, but at least I'm going in knowing there may be problems with the payment. I'll just do this one and see if they cough up before doing any more for them.

Have looked at the paperwork and at first glance it doesn't look too bad for the fee so we'll see when I review it further in the cold light of day ;)
