I got the same, but they still email me offering me the hard to cover places. I'm not inclined to put myself out for them on the off chance that they might decide they have space in my area.
That's how you get in though. I got an email to do a visit in a hard to cover area (2 mins away from where I work!) and they gave me a triple bonus for doing it and after that, they took me on. There are always visits no one else will take on and I get those which includes the mystery shop to the RE cheap supermarket which I adore as they give a juicy mileage too.
If they offer you something local, go for it. What's the worst that could happen?
I'm not one for doing merchandising as I don't want to get down and dirty if I am expected to dress up, but to each their own. I know some people make an absolute fortune doing merchandising and auditing.

Yeah, pretty sure I applied ages ago to UKIMS and got told there was no room at the inn, not heard anything yet. I have just been given an assignment by marketchecker after waiting for a couple of years for an opening.0

Merchandising ain't hard, it's just the fine art of finding the easiest way to do something and applying it.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -

I think it's Tern, in which case, give them a ring, they're always really nice and helpful
Noooooooo, never doing an AA job again! Yes, Tern- sorry get confused as to what info we can give on here. I will try to ring them when I get some time. I'm really busy with my own business atm, so not fitting in much MS. Plus, MS work seems really quiet round here atm.Minimalist

Hiya just a quick question regarding tax if anyone can help. I am not doing any assignments for profit, they are all just reimbursements from buying something/eating out somewhere. Do I still need to register for tax even though I'm not actually making any money?0
-
Well...not really...but why aren't you taking the jobs that have fees attached. There are plenty more fee paying jobs than reimbursement only jobs. I still would register self employed and that allows you to take a fee paying job at any time without having to worry about registering for tax and then filling out forms to exempt yourself from paying national insurance contributions. The sooner you do it then the sooner it's all out of the way. Filling out a tax return showing nil income and nil expenses should only take a few minutes if you don't end up taking any fee paying jobs over the year.HappyHappy wrote: »Hiya just a quick question regarding tax if anyone can help. Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

To be honest I'm not in it to make money, more of a free meal ticket as I already have a full time job! I'm not sure how to fill in the form for self employed either with me having another job? Just wondered if it was worth it0
