Scaffolding issues next door

So, the scaffolder came round today. Not only did he not net, or fix the kickboards "they'll be finished soon, no point now", he informed (not asked!) me that to put the next phase up, they will need to go THROUGH my shed roof.
At this point the correct response would have been 'like hell you will'. Or similar.
They're taking the mick because you're female and pregnant.
I'm angry for you. The last thing you need right now is hassle like this.
If it were me I'd be telling them to clear off my property asap, they'd blown it.Herman - MP for all!

Please keep us updated....... We could all come round with pitch forks and burning sheaths of straw (like in the old days) and lynch them if you want.... (might take a while though as would be a bit of a journey for me)0

That absolutely would have been the correct response, but I was so gobsmacked, and it was 3.12 (school kicks out at 3.15), I just sort of muttered and waddled away!
Anyway, there was no one there this morning, OH got nice and fed up again - he has hauled the actual owner of the house to the pub this evening to have a nice friendly chat about what happens when you abuse your neighbours goodwill... Against all advice, we are still trying to keep it good natured - very British! They've been there 3 hours so far, am waiting up to see what the outcome is...
However, the gate is looking fabulous with its newly aquired padlock, so whatever happens, there will be no more wandering into our garden as and when (suspected, but not proven..). Also no access without prior arrangement :-)
I'm on maternity leave from next Friday so I will be around a lot more to keep a beady eye on proceedings!0 -

Aren't we all...
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

They've agreed to everything we wanted, and it's in writing.
Netted and kickboards from day one.
We will clear the shed, but if they want to do anything to it, it is entirely at their own cost, skip, demolition, whatever and the area is to be left clean and ridy.
Proof of public liability insurance.
Once it is up, no further access via our land except for essential works to the actual scaffold.
No putlog on our facework.
To be gone by October 31st.
But as I say, I'm on mat leave from next Friday, so I can keep a pretty good eye on them now. And the gate is locked, so they can't get access without our sayso.
I think the owner was quite embarressed that it had got this far, to be honest...0 -

A complete victory ? Ring out dem bells !"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

A complete victory shall not be claimed until 31st October...
We'll see! I have a sneaky feeling it won't be quite that straightforward, but maybe I'm being unfair...0 -
Now all your readers have either Googled putlog or haven't had the cojones to ask.
From your description I can't see why it would have been necessary anyway.
Well done.

Well, they came today (with 48 hours notice as requested!) to put up the scaffold and have done it as we requested, no arguing. Am feeling very relieved, as we seem to have remained on good terms as they are taking parcels from the postman in for me! Thanks very much for the support I received here, it was most welcome :-)0
