I was born in the '80s so re-listening to much of the music gives a whole new dimension- I can see years of my life when I hear different tunes and thanks to radio not always in the right order!
I love the Eurythmics, its really quite a strange thing because I used to hear it a lot growing up. My mum liked one song on one album and played the whole album a few times but not very much. My dad hated Annie Lennox (I think he felt quite threatened by her- he is more of a Kylie-man which says it all really). So my own love comes purely from myself! I still often re-listen to the best of and many of the other albums today.
Growing up I loved Kylie Minogue, I loved and still love all the Madonna Immaculate Collection stuff- sorry to any fans I may upset but I really do not like the things she releases at the moment, nothing since Evita.
Erasure, Bowie, Queen...there are so many! I think music today is just not the same, groups seem to be famous because of what they do rather then what they sound like, music is repetitive and never really sounds unique and the worst thing is, anyone that steps onto the scene with really unique music is soon blasted down to the irritating monotonous bland dance stuff which seems to be falling under the title of a download. So sad, so sad...0 -
I was a 80s child, but I was into rock music from a fairly young age, so I was listening to guns n roses, metallica etc (which my mum loved .... she hated it lol.)
I still listen to same kind of music now, and I still have a liking for spandu ballet too!0 -
