Scottish Power online about to close ....
get in there quick people, I believe this is the last of the 'cheap' fixed tarriffs available. Martin's already warned everyone that its about to close, and in fact it might well be closed by the time you read this.
Get in there (with quidco/topcashback) quick and dont make the same mistake as I did when I was umming and ahhing about EDF's blue tarriff

It closes @ 12pm tonight I am interested in the Dec 2013 Fix because the March 2014 is too expensive however I can't find the unit prices and the prices on the website only show the march 2014 offer. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
I just did a check on uswitch. The cheapest available price works out at £183 per year more than I currently pay. I am on a fixed price until December 2012, but there are no fees if I switch to another Scottish Power plan as that is who I am already with. Should I switch or wait until my existing plan runs out?0

in your situation i'd stay with your current price fix. After that ends I'm assuming they put you on a standard tariff which generally work out to be cheaper than fixed tarriffs anyway.
Possible scenario: nearer December you look on comparison sites for the latest best tarriff and go for that.
Worst case scenario: you stay where you are currently and go on the standard tarriff in January 2013.
in January you can still shop around so stay where you are. Why pay more right now for switching to a 'cheaper' tarriff?0 -
Not sure why Martin's Money Tips from 12 Sep 2012 states
"This Scottish Power tariff's been replaced on comparisons with a costlier (£1,099 on use above) but 2mth longer fix."
i.e. the Jan 2014 product is dearer than the Nov 2013 one.
I compared the gas & electricity prices per kWh for the two products (Eastern area, pay by monthly DD) and they are identical, therefore surely the Jan 2014 product is preferable?0 -
I've been trying to get a quote for the "31st December 2013" deal since I got home from work.
Any method in to the Scottish Power website (MSE, quidco, direct URL) only quotes for the "Fixed Price Energy November 2014 Online No Standing Charge" 'deal' (has a £30 exit fee).
I'm only asking for Electricity only (we don't have mains gas in the village) - would that be the reason?0 -
It is for dual or electric only. I found it cheaper to have electric only rather than dual and my application was confirmed.0

IanMelb - I'm seeing exactly the same thing. The page for the details of the Dec 13 fixed deal is still there but when you click apply now it no longer shows as an option you can apply for. Just wasted a couple of house working this out and the website is very flakey at the moment which doesn't help either. What a waste of time!0

Oh dear ..... Sounds like it's on the web but no longer available.0

Been trying the same tonight and met the same issues. I presume the fixed deal has now been withdrawn.
We're currently on the EDF fixed s@ver v2 E7 deal which expires on 30th Sept.
I suppose it would be best to stick with EDF until this deal expires now?0
