  • Well I got her in school :j she was playing on her mums guilt and being a right madam. Luckily the Head of Year we went to see was no nonsense as well. So glad, everyday she was at home she was making it more difficult for herself. She is a confident, sociable girl - she will be fine.

Histep, sory to hear that, hope you get things sorted.x

Argh H has job interview for job in Bath. It's good money but it would mean relocating :eek: we are both in a quandry about what direction to take (OK no saying he will get the job BUT I need to consider the impact).........i though the rollercoaster ride of redundancy was bad enough but it continues with the job hunting :o

    Happy Anniversary LW's & RR's :D:T:T:T:rotfl:

HS ((hugs)) to you, that's what we are here for to used as anonymous ears.

Bitsy - I think the attitude is, go for the interview, you can always say no at any time, it is good practice, and confidence building if you get the job, whether he takes it or not.

Two loads of washing, and a wind break on the line (it got muddy so needed a spruce up). Accounts for the rally now done, and some database work done for Spain so I can have everything automated out there (President of the 62 houses this year). Must start tidying up the office bedroom it is a real tip atm. Only a month before we are off back to the warmth, and quite a lot of jobs still on my list.

Bread fresh out of the BM, so slightly warm B&Jam for lunch. Gammon for tea tonight, bought when A$da had 3 packs for £10, though think I prefer the A!di ones.

On the subject of A!di, has anyone spotted they are doing bread flour, dried yeast, and other baking stuff at the moment. One thing they had last year but not there now is rolled oats:mad: don't want sachets of the instant stuff. Anyone spotted oats in Lid!?

    Take care all DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Donny Gal I bought rolled oats from A*di a couple of months ago in a big bag next to the boxed cereals. Used it to make a batch of twinks, tasted just the same as always.
    Best wishes

It's been warm & sunny here today though it was nippy this morning.
Hugs to HS, Happy Anniversary to RR & LW, don't do anything I wouldn't do, that includes tipping over the sofa, I told my DD what we'd done, she said 'Good god Mother, at your age you should be having sex in bed, not around the house'.
LW, it was my fault entirely I'm too lazy to add smileys & should have made it clearer that I was joking.
I'm thick skinned anyway lol, so it takes a lot to offend me.
A few years ago I walking into an office full of people, a colleague turned to look at me & said. 'Oh you've been shopping at the Charity Shop again' as I had on a skirt & top she hadn't seen before, everyone was horrified by her rudeness, but I laughed, we'd been talking about clothes shopping previously & I'd explained that I got all my clothes from CS's, so she wasn't being rude at all.
Not much OS going on here, no meal to cook for hubby as he's not home til 10ish & I've had toast.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hi chums well I did get 'some' decluttering done but it was such a gorgeous day it seemed a shame to waste it indoors so I had a walk around the local country park in the hope of finding some blackberries It seemes as half of Kent had been before me as the brambles were stripped bare (even the top ones )Oh well there's always next year I guess.
I think a lot of folk are foraging for some berries at the moment to help fill up space in the freezer or even to make jam with.I may take the tribe up to the wild woods at the weekend in hope of some not picked there

This afternoon I decided to take a bus ride into Maidstone for a change, and was suprised in the shopping mall there how many shops are lying empty now.I would guess that at least half of the shops that used to be there have gone ,a sign of the times I think.

Whilst awaiting the bus home I was a bit early so popped into the Heart of Kent hospice charity shop and bagged a smashing double duvet cover and pair of pillow cases in a lovely bright flowery yellow pattern for £4.00,they are in my washing machine at the moment having a quick spruce up.I am so pleased with them as they will go beautifully in my spare room as I had a pale plain gold carpet installed a few months ago in there and have been looking for some covers to match.
It was a really nice charity shop with a coffee bar so I treated myself to some coffee and cake at a fraction of the price of a St*rbucks.

Tonights dinner will be HM quiche with salad and rice pud and a banana that needs using up.All in all a nice day off from the tribe ,but back to normal tomorrow.
    have a good evening everyone

.....six packs of eight of pour and store bags for 60p each ....... the hand blender that had been reduced from £12.99 to £6.99 .....

BB, where did you find those bargains? I use quite a few pour & store bags for stock & soup, and I'd love a hand blender but can usually talk myself out of spending the £££s!

Happy Anniversary to RR and LW
    Welcome nik0510 :)
    ((((cat-smith))))

Beautiful crisp autumn day here :). Sun shone all day.

Good work day with new kids, except for one quitting! He was one of the ones who didn't turn up yday. He turned up this morning, no apology and stinking of weed . I pulled him to one side to speak about it, he told me to F-off and disappeared! His loss. I have already replaced him with one of the reserve list, would rather give his place to someone who wants it. We went to our cabin and did lots of problem solving activities/games.

Crap day otherwise - family stuff going on :( won't go into it now though. And car failed MOT, needed 2 tyres and something with the suspension, expected the tyres but not the other bit. £300 poorer :(. Massive headache now, going to have tea and a bath then early night I think.

OS wise - packed lunch made, LO's for dinner.

    Night all

    Hi.

Spent today reorganising my ex-dining room to make room for the freezer that is arriving tomorrow. I can see that we will be eating from our laps for the foreseeable future.

Have got rid of 2 boxes of baguettes and half the loaves to some co-workers at the Drop-in who have spaces in their freezers. Am spending tomorrow making loads of bread pudding - always goes down well.

    Not much else to report.

Happy Anniversary to LW & RR
