Old Style Daily Thread Thurs 13th Sept 2012 This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Nippy here this morning, but looks to e sunny later, I am off to work, which is so busy, yesterday went by in a flash.
Got my work meeting tonight, it was cancelled last night, but today works better for me anyway.
Dinner tonight is kiev chips and peas, nice and easy, will shove in before meeting.
Mr T delivering tonight, and I need to do a wash.
BB I hope maud is ok this morning.
Have good days all xx

Morning Redruby and all to follow.
Chilly n bright here again, had lots of rain and wind last night.
Not sure what is going on today, OH is at home as not at work till tonight. Both kids are at school/college today but DD finishes early. DD has now decided that she is thinking of going to Uni next year. Have now got lots of Uni open days to fit in over the next few weeksand very pleased she is thinking of doing it though.
May have to go round Dsis in a min, my Neice who went up to big school this year has been messing around not going to school. Well today she is going in whatever, we may need to go round to 'help' her. I had to look after her yesterdat and she drove me mad - she doesn't realise that every day she is at home she is making it worse & she and her mum could get in a lot of trouble. My sister has been liasing with the school but they can't do anything till she actually gets in there. Darn kids!
Best get going, may be a good idea to get dressed as I might have to go out :rotfl:
Have a great day all.x0 -
Morning all, sunny but nippy here this morning, Jack walked and fed , cats fed too. Off to work in a minute, hope it stays dry as I'm on playground duty. Hugs to all in need , hope DD has recovered from her migraine RR esmf hope your son likes the new school. EG hope you manage to get your niece to school, Hilstep and Tiglath take it easy today. Wish I could join you for breakfast sistercas all I've had is Shr***ies.
Have a good day all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Light cloud in the sky, sun trying to break though here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing ready to go out on the line and another load in as we speak.
Dinner last night was sausages, mash, onion gravy, cauli, carrots, green beans, broccolli and LO yorkshire puds - was delish and there were clean plates all round. Still not sure about tonight, may be spag bol, if I make spag bol will do some HM bread to accompany but just use the BM to mix the dough and then finish it off by hand and cook in the oven - loaf is much bigger and has a nicer texture and taste. Have quite a glut of mushrooms at the moment, so will research a mushroom/garlic starter type dish to serve before the mains tonight - really don't want to waste them, they're also too expensive to waste and we all love mushrooms.
Working extra today, today would normally be a day off - but they were desperate and asked for people to do extra, so am doing just today 9.30-1.30 - it will soon be done and there wasn't any other days that suited me on the list so haven't got anymore.
Will do a few small jobs once I get home, will try to get the ironing done, and then tomorrow will just have the bank, shopping and housework, and baking/cooking - the baking and cooking I could do Sat morning if I need to.
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning everyone.
Tired here. KC brought in a mouse so I chased her out, Luna decided she wanted to go out and the starts were amazingly bright so ended up doing a little star gazingregretting that decision somewhat this morning as it took me ages to go off to sleep again
H tossed and turned too, place where he had interview Monday want him to go back friday for an informal walk around. Not sure if that means he's got the job or what as they said they weren't doing second interviews. He has an iron in another fire regarding a potential job and he is being put forward for a job in another part of the country. He's not sure which direction to take argh!!!
Anyway enough of me ramblingoff to a friends for coffee and chat this morn
This afternoon will be spent doing house work etc.
Can you believe DD has picked up a cold from school already, she's got a horrible barking cough and her chest sounds awful
Luna is currently in the dog house. Again. She jumped on the sofa to snatch DS's toast.......she's typical lab
Tea tonight will be bacon stir fry.
EG good luck sorting out your neice xxx if she ends up home I'd put her to work doing all the grotty jobs you can think of, make her realise that going to school is the better option
BB glad Maud is finally getting sorted xxxxx
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Morning all
Hugs and kisses all round to the poorlies, under the weather or just in need xo
Work early today - have to finish at end of school time as there's no one to collect the children, so 9 to 2.30 with no lunch! Only had toast and marmalade so taking some cup a soup to keep me going!
Last night's tea was HM soup, made from LO veg and chicken, then apple crumble and custard, real comfort food and nothing left!Tonight maybe spag bol here, too, too tired and cold to be more creative. :rotfl:
Have a nice day all!

Woke up early for a change, Skye heard me go to the loo, so she has been in the garden and now sock on on my knee:o:o;) but she is like a hot water bottle.
Got to A*di and The Range yesterday, not a big shop as it was fresh stuff I needed. Bought 2 picky frames, both the wrong size:o so they need to go back, I have now got the sizes I need them to be. Got a much reduced Dab radio fron there too, it has a union jack on the front, but looks OK in the kitchen.
Just got the £20 for £9 gr**pon deal, it has to be used by 12th Oct. but I do like their clothes.
Had a breakfast brunch for tea last night, IYKWIM as DH cannot face it earlier in the day, used up the last of the bread with it, but then forgot to put a loaf on last night, so will do a quick one shortly.
Right better go and get myself in gear as the sun is out so want to get some washing on.
((hugs)) to the poorlies or those with kids or pets under the weather. Take care of the arm Hillstep, enjoy chilling. And take care all. DG,Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Bright and chilly here too, I think Autumn has well and truly arrived.
Bitsy an informal walk around usually means a job offer :j
Shopping day today and I need to get a prescription filled.
Not often that I say that I am looking forward to watching TV, but tonight is Wartime farm and Bletchley circle so me and DH actually sit together to watch which is a rarity these days.
