I'm looking for some clarification.

I'm on 3 mobiles The One Plan.

I'm looking to use the phone as a modem whilst we are away next week.

Am i right in thnking that as I am on the one plan I can use the phone as a modem and it won't cost anything more no matter how much I data I download?

  • Yes that is correct. I do it with my Android phone. I just set it up as a wifi hotspot and computers connect to it as if it were a wifi network.

You can tether on all our One Plan tariffs including SIM Only with a 1-month rolling contract.

I'm on a £15 100 min / unlimited text / unlimited internet plan and routinely use 4-5gb a month tethering with no issues...
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.
  • From what i know three will block tethering on the new all you can eat data plans ( except the one plan ) but allow it on older data plans with limits such as the add internet max.
they now also do a tethering add on that goves you 1Gb of data to use whilst tethered.
  • On android phones there's apps to get around network tethering blocks, but you might still get in trouble if you use very large amounts of data and someone looks at your account.

Windows Phone 7/8 allows wifi sharing on any network as a standard OS feature, no app, cable, bluetooth, extra bundle needed, why let a network dicate to you how to use data when you pay them for the right :D
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • i have been tethering my nexus 7 tablet on my android phone via wifi hotspot feature on the three one plan and have been using about 20-30gb via wifi tethering and that data use is just on my tablet. previous few months i had been using 20-30gb on my samsung galaxy note. mainly watching TV cartoons via various free apps for my daughter while we go on long drives on holiday the last few weeks and for youtube tech videos for me the rest of the time. not been billed extra as teherting allowed on one plan. You can tether by wifi hotspot or bluetooth or usb cable.
