Talking phone for Learning Disabled?
My son has a learning disability, he is 20 and cannot read much at all. We've tried mobile phones and though he can make calls using a photo menu he cannot manage texts and will often lock or mess up his phone because he cannot read the prompts.
As he is away at a residential college and cannot always answer his mobile when I call him I wondered if there was any way he could make texts by speaking them and have a phone which would read our texts to him, tell him he has a text or a missed call etc. I am not very good on tech, so is there anyone out there who can suggest a good affordable phone with this option or some software we could use? We don't have much cash so cheap as poss please!

Android phones will do text to speech (called Talkback) it's pre-installed on most devices for accessibility.

If he has a smart phone there quite a few free voice control apps that he could use.
They will read and send texts using voice commands etc
