Many years ago I was paid by cheque by a US Buyer (Before Paypal), the item was about £30. I waited until it cleared then posted out. Unfortunately I didn't realise back then that US Cheques can still be recalled and about a month later this was.

I contacted the buyer fully expecting to loose out completely but they said they would pop a cash payment in the post instead. I didn't believe it but true to their word a week later a Christmas Card turned up with the payment and an apology. Buyer hadn't realised either that cheques to the UK took so long to clear and had closed his bank account to move to another bank.

There are honest people out there, its just a shame a few aren't.
