    First the Jubilee...

    ...then the Olympics...

    ...then the Paralympics...

    ...and now BASKETS AT LIDL!

Can the world get any better?

    We have them also.

They are made of cast iron and weigh a ton, before you put any shopping in them.

You are better off with a trolley IMO.

When our local Lidl's opened they only had baskets, no trolleys. It was a bit of a pain, and it stopped me from going in if I wanted more than a few items. Then they got trolleys (only the really deep ones where I almost fell in trying to get stuff out!) and they did away with the baskets altogether!

They've since got smaller trolleys as well as bringing back the baskets after the absence of both for at least a couple of years.

All is now well in Lidl land. :D

If they bring in cast iron ones round here, they'd probably all get nicked by the local *cough* members of the caravanning club *cough*.

My old Lidl used to have problems with baskets, it was very rare that they took the baskets from the tills back to the front of the shop. Used to be a pain in the a$$ having to get past the queues to grab a basket as they all thought you were pushing in.

I've been to their Head Office, it's just like one of their shops, very basic with not much money spent on it.

First we have dinosaurs on a spaceship and now baskets at Lidles.

Is the universe getting cooler (in a non-thermodynamic sense)?

They have a security guard at my old Lidl, saying that they had one at the pound shop too...
