Sky behind the times...

Options
The clock on my laptop, mobile phone, watch & the wall say it's 23.01hrs,yet the time on my Sky HD+ box says 22.55hrs.....

Consequently my recordings are not starting on time as the clock is 6 minutes slow...

Anyone else have this problem?

  • You know you can add time to the start of recordings in settings? change from automatic to upto +10mins early and/or end +10mins after.

Never noticed this - Sky box always seems to agree with Freeview+ box which updates time automatically.
  • "Reboot the Digibox" is the advice always given for this (and other problems). So what happened when you rebooted?
  • I've noticed that since I got the new HD EPG, when a marker comes up to indicate a programme is about to start, the time in the corner is always one hour ahead of the actual time, ie prog starts at 8.00pm, banner appears at 7.59pm but banner says 8.59pm.

    Strange.

Have'nt rebooted the box yet as I've been busy yesterday & forgot about it,but it's a weird one.Despite the lag in the time on the planner, the recordings/alerts come up on time despite the cluck being 6 minutes slow, and after a couple minutes it resets itself back to the correct time.

I'll reboot later & let you know the result..

Is there a chicken in your Digibox?:D

Just for reference, I have a radio-controlled clock which receives time signals from Greenwich and comparing the time on it with my Sky boxes showed them to be three seconds slow.

I think your box is simply due a re-boot.

Rebooted the box, updated.Still no joy.It seems to do it at certain times of the day, like now when I checked it's showing as 4.56 but the real time is 5.04pm.Always 6 minutes behind then later on it'll reset to the correct time...Recordings are starting at the correct time..
