BE Internet provider

On Broadband Choices BE is showing as the cheapest broadband offer (broadband only) - £8.50 for 10Mb speed and unlimited download. Notice BE isn't included on any discussion here - a good ISP or one to avoid?

Excellent ISP - I have been with them since January 2008. And £8.50 is a very good price for their Value package, and I suspect is a half-price discount period. (Broadband and phone [evening and weekend calls] is £9.00).

Note: Up to 10meg is actually up to 12meg ... you get whatever your line can support up to a maximum of 12meg.

Be is provided by O2, so technically there should be no difference in the service, it's just a different choice of tariffs. And their tech support is generally highly rated. but you will pay more than on 02.

Not exactly. BE is a separate entity to O2 but they share many resources. (In fact, O2 LLU uses the BE network/equipment but then connects to their own user-management systems).

Perhaps I should have said that they are both part of Telefonica?

We were with Be for several years. Never had any problems with them - we only left to get a much faster service with BT Infinity.

  • Have been a happy Be customer for over 5 years - they might not be the cheapest, but they certainly do deliver high speed, unthrottled internet access. :)
