Trouting for me. Staff very polite, told them to feel free to take away my APG and check it which they did. Took ages, think chap on till regretted questionning it and said he wished he'd put it through! Anyway, all fine in the end.
Took my son, told him to pick up receipts with more than 8 items on. He didn't quite follow those instructions, just picked up any old receipts! :rotfl:Of the pile he picked up, only 2 had enough items, but he made £1.40 so was well chuffed.0 -

Long time lurker first time poster.....
Having read here extensively about the number of trouting incidences with APG's I decided to do some investigation.
1. DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY BEING TROUTED. You are absolutely entitled to use a valid APG anyway you wish, obviously if you're breaking the monthly £100 limit then that's another matter but if you are under the monthly limit and have even a £50 legitimate APG you are entitled to use it.
However some people feel they have done something wrong even when they haven't, so to help them I have the following suggestion......get the APG value put on a gift card.
What What !!?? I hear you say, how do I do that?
It's really quite simple.
In the Asda Price Guarantee website Q&A
I can't post the link but google
asda price guarantee questions
and it's the first one on the list
it states....
How will I get my voucher when I am entitled to one?
...............In store vouchers can be redeemed at any Asda store, as long as you present your voucher along with your original receipt.
Alternatively, you can redeem your voucher at the customer service desk if you are spending less than the value of the voucher. All vouchers must be used within 28 days of being issued. You must ensure that you retain your original receipt as vouchers are only valid when presented with the original receipt.
So boys, girls and all others......
Instead of waiting to be trouted take the initiative, when you get to the store buy something silly like a packet of gum and go to the customer service desk, tell them you want to use the ridiculously large APG to buy the gum and you have spoken to head office (I did speak to head office to confirm this BEFORE posting it here) and was told that if using the APG for items less then it's value I would get the balance put on a gift card. After the usual "I'm not sure/I need to call" 5 minute faff you'll have your nice shiny gift card complete with all your APG goodness.
It worked today for me with a £40+ APG and what was even more interesting was that they did not enter the APG barcode into the system when transferring the balance to the gift card so they're now unable to track any subsequent spend back to that APG.
Obviously you need your original receipt as always, but frankly no-one with a fake APG is going to walk up to the customer service desk and try this on so you're at lot less likely to get trouted, although they'll want to check it thoroughly.
If anyone does get silly and make accusations then just ask them firmly for their name and their position in the store, if you're feeling brave and they've made accusations within earshot of any members of the public ask them, loud enough so anyone else in earshot can also hear, if they're willing to give you a £20 gift card for your embarrassment when you prove them wrong. By taking the battle to them you put them on the defensive, remember in all of this that your APG is valid and legit as long as you haven't broken the £100 limit rule.
Good luck all and I hope some people find my first post useful.0 -

Well two shops completed - having a bit of a panic though as I have the Oat So Simple variety pack, I saw it compared on another APG earlier in the week, and it is on both the A$da and Waiteys websites but on MS it only shows as Ocado - anyone have any idea if it wil still compare or do you think the shop is doomed?
Used a £9 APG this afternoon on one of my shops, not a problem (in fact both stores I use have been fab) prob helped as it was right on closing and they just wanted to get people out (plus the guy next to me had just dropped a massive tub of yoghurt that had split, a handy diversion lol!)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Seeing as I only started on this glitch yesterday I thought I was doing OK with 4 decent shops under my belt and no errors. My local store seems fine taking the vouchers - although last night one SA did get quite excited about my £15 .xx voucher (in a nice way).
Unfortunately, I have certainly raised my profile today - I decided to start combination shops and got 9 hair care items and also some vitamins and paid for nearly all of it with one £13 voucher plus a handful of smallish wombled ones. I didn't think it through and I got a £31 .xx voucher back !
I decided to use it this afternoon thinking that I was more likely to find a young student/part-timer on a Sunday. I found one alright but she had a voice like a foghorn - took one look at my coupon and shrieked out 'bl**** hell, thats HUGE!!!'. Wouldn't have been quite so bad if she hadn't waved it around and shouted to several CA's on nearby tills. It was a good job that the 2 shops were completely different but I still got hot under the collar - fortunately my 2 week holiday has given me a decent tan so at least my red face didn't show up too much.
There was no trouble getting it accepted though - she even asked if I had any more I wanted to use. Apparently the biggest they've had before was around £26 so I've beaten their record. I had intended to do another shop as well but I'm ashamed to say I lost my nerve and scarpered PDQ. If it works, the new APG will be fairly big too.
Phew thank goodness that worked!! I did my cleaning shop there and got a £29 apg and safe to say - im really nervous:eek: about using it. My seconds have all went to zero - i remember seeing this problem on an earlier post, so I have printed out the 'why £29' comparison sheet in case theres any bother. I also have it on my iphone with the correct seconds - so hopefully it wont be a trout-fest when I go and gegt my proper shop later on! Any advice dear friends on how I can use this without drawing maximimum attention??
