just seen travelodge have rooms for £35 a night for 4 and 5 august next year, will this be when the tattoo and festival will be on? we do go at end of july but a bit quiet then as not much on, will it be more lively then

Sounds like an excellent price. I've stayed at the Premier Inn in Leith a couple of times and it's spot on with shops and restaurants nearby. The prices vary from £66 to £85 per couple on a room only basis, but you would expect to pay the higher price for August with the Military Tattoo and Fringe Festival being on in the city.

You have the option of a full or continental breakfast between £6 and £8 per person which is of good quality and there's a bus stop outside the hotel taking you in to the heart of the city three mile journey approximately 20 minutes travel time.
