Xperia play broken - Grey backgroud with lines - Help!

My son dropped his xperia play a while back. It cracked the screen but still worked fine. However now it just has a grey background with lines.
I have replaced the Digitizer touch screen and the screen display module, but it's still not fixed!!
Something else I googled said it could be the slider? I've already spent over £30 on parts, a slider is another £30.
Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it?
