Turn Off Internet on old Nokia 6288

My daughter has an old Nokia 6288. Every month she gets a a couple of pounds of extra charges for internet access every few days which she swears blind she doesn't use. She thinks the internet button might get jogged accidentally.
She's happy not to have internet access and I'd be happy to stop paying the extra! Any advice please on how we can set phone to prevent internet access, accidental or otherwise?

  • Hi,

    found this, might help:

Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Packet data > Packet data
    connection
    :

    >Always online: to set the phone to automatically register to a packet
data network when you switch on the phone.

    >When needed: to register and establish a packet data connection when
an application using packet data needs it, and to close the connection
    when you end the application.

    >You need to set the settings into When needed so that the pacekt data connection wont continue.

Failing that you can always ask the network to disable mobile data permanently on their side.

Thanks, was already set to when needed. Daughter thinks button got jogged when keyboard unlocked. Have now spoken to provider (virgin) who agreed partial refund and took her through phone configuration to disable access. Decent customer service I think.
