Increasing water flow upstairs

  • Hi.

    666.

You might want to view the Salamander video on the website.

Pay particular attention to the orientation of the pump.

As said I would still be wary of using it on a shared supply such as yours.

hi, thats the pump he's installed. it is SO loud and not enough water for it to run anyway.

its installed where it says also, isn't that supposed to be illegal?

however it is in on it's side. but as I say, my supply can't keep up with the pump

    Hi.

Do you appreciate that it is a WRAS approved product for fitting to a mains water supply and is therefore legal?

Maybe it wouldn't be so noisy if it were fitted as per the video.(you did view that didn't you?)

My suggestion would be to have a new independent water main fitted to serve your home only.
    Keep the pump.

  • haven't seen that pump before but yes it does seem the answer, however as CH said it does need to be fitted as per the video if it is on it's side you prob have air trapped which maybe why it's noisy & not working very well

just had a chat with my builder and he's told the original plumber that we are using another plumber & i'm not having to pay anything because he knows he royally screwed up

my combi is staying until mon and on mon the conventional one will go in.

on future houses i need to remember to not trust trade people even if certified, with help and advice from this forum I knew better than this bell end plumber
  • not one to put another question but i presume all the old pipework has been removed so how are they gonna get from the new boiler back to the airing cupboard & i guess you will need a new cylinder as well if that has gone

Thats going to win you an awful lot of friends amongst those who have been contributing at length and in their own time to your numerous threads on this project. I do hope its written out of frustration in the heat of the moment rather than you actually meaning it.

    Cheers

    Hi.

It hadn't gone unnoticed that you haven't had the decency to hit the 'thanks ' button for any advice from those in the trade, I guess that chimes with the 'I know better' comment.

I am sure the finished job will reflect your knowledge and input.
I'm sure it will all go wonderfully well without me wishing you good luck.

    Bye.

At this point there seems no point in discussing the break tank approach further which would probably be the simplest way out of this mess.

its written against the plumber i had around, and 2 other plumbers who quoted saying that i should have a combi, one by just looking at the flow and one without even looking

i haven't been so lucky as to find decent plumbers as you lot on here. and to be honest from what i know a lot of that is from my research using this forum :) I appreciate the comments and I try to answer other people when i have the advice/experience/knowledge

southcoast - the old cylinder & header tank is still in situ, but i would want a new cylinder as it is ancient and i will be moving it into the room next door
  • Felt for you when i started reading this thread. As a tradesman, i now hope that what ever you end up with, bursts and ruins your house.

    Hope that helps
