new soil pipe and connection into inspection chamber
Comments
-
pipe in chamber could just be a glazed halfpipe/channel, the pipework under the ground maybe plastic they wont have to join into the exisiting pipe they can just flow it into the exisiting channel
the price isnt too bad they still have to cut and break out concrete excavate for the pipe then excavate a section out to be able to "break" into the existing inspection chamber which by the sounds of it is concrete section- which may also have a concrete backfill surround. Depending on height break out some of the haunching above the existing channel then put all the fittings and pipework in, repair haunching inside of inspection chamber repair the hole where they broke in, back fill and redo the concrete flooring and remove the spoil that was broke out/excavated
thats my understanding...sounds easy lol
existing pipe will all be glazed/clay0 -
existing pipes will more than likely be plastic with a glazed halfs in inspection chambers
days wise it shouldnt take more than two days but it will depend on the depth of concrete, access and any other services in the ground0 -
ok sorry for not updating this.
Will be 1 days work 2 men at £18 per hour each
I supply parts
Local general builder that i have used before.0 -
job done 5 hours work, as concrete was easy to dig out.
under 200 quid for the whole job.
The guy was shocked when i told him the original quote for running a pipe approx 1m.0 -
In reality though, how can any of us honestly say if a price is reasonable without doing a site visit! There's just too many variables to base an opinion on a few lines of text surely!
Anyway, hope the OP got a price they were happy with!
Yes got a good price.
BTW Too many what ifs, that may never happen spoil the price lol0 -
Good to hear the end result OP, sounds like you got a cracking price!
Although no-one will ever know how good a job they really did until someone like me comes along and sticks a camera up it!!0 -

its less than a meter you would prob use your eyes or you could stick your arm down it to get to the inspection chamber lol .
i do have a blocked rainwater down pipe that you could put camera down lol
Need to retrofit a rodding eye, if thats do-able. its cast! been blocked for over 3 years rofl. its had 2 roofers and a drain cleaner/dynorod type dude look at the blockage. none figured out it was a down pipe(in last 3 years).
Does not really bother me i never paid them to GUESS the problem. Previous owner did lol
The top piece of down pipe was replaced by a roofer cause it was cracked due too water sitting in it. The kitchen drain was rodded due to a flood in the hall.(assume the guy never rodded to the street and only up to inspection chamber.. But ill find that out after i see if down pipe is clear. lol
I assume rainwater and waste water is all connected cause its a very old house.0
